This is just a thread for action junkies like myself. I was gonna make this a thread for badass fight scenes from TV, anime, or movies, but I figured it'd be more fun to open it up to just action in general. I'll let YOU define what "action" means so as to not make this thread too restrictive. Car chases, fights, shoot outs, whatever floats your boat. Anytime shit hits the fan or it becomes clear "peace was never an option". So here's some great ones:

If you like horror I don't know how you could not love this scene. It's chaos and pandemonium and I love it. This is what shit hitting the fan really looks like:

The most badass action scene in The Lord of the Rings isn't when Aragorn faces off with an orc, or when Legolas does something cool. It's not even when Gandalf shouts "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!" at an ancient evil from the depths...

It's when a little stouthearted hobbit faces off and wins against an ancient giant Spider to save his best friend.


Is it any wonder why Tolkien called Samwise Gamgee the true hero of the story?

I wasn't necessarily always sold on Greengrasses hand cam fight stuff, but Bourne Versus Desh was pretty good



Of all the Wick fights, I still really like the train fight against Common



Last of the Mohicans. Great sequence. They establish that Magua is no pushover when he easily despatches Uncas , and then Chingachgook just comes in and wrecks him.

The fight no one knew they needed, and it was every bit as awesome as you'd expect.


The music and artistry here is amazing.


Almost a decade later, and Pacific Rim still looks goddamn amazing. I recommend watching the movie in 3D if you ever get the chance.


The best fight scene in Blue Eye Samurai, after this the show's fights just get ridiculously over the top


This is just testosterone fueled badassery

 
I wanted to post the entire amazing Hotel set piece from Jackie Chan's Armour of God II: Operation Condor, but every single clip I found online is the shitty English dub:rolleyes:

Everyone who uploads classic Asian cinema dubbed deserves a swift kick in the crotch.

Since it's such a short movie I'll just post the whole thing. I love the moment at 1:55 when he angrily crushes the phone like, "CRIME! IN MY TOWN! FUCK THAT SHIT!!!" :LOL:

The ensuing fight is awesome.



The attack on the police precinct is hilarious too

Nice to see fellow Jackie Chan fans, found that scene I was looking for. This whole sequence is a perfect blend of action and comedy

I can't believe someone was crazy enough to try something like this in a live action film, but it totally works:



Moving on to something different, Who can forget that moment where 80s kids throughout the country were traumatized while watching a bunch of their childhood heroes get brutally murdered by a bunch of villains, who even brought a badass heavy metal theme song with them just to make the whole scene even more fucked up:



This led into one of the most memorable battles of the 80s as we witnessed a city under siege...eventually leading to yet another traumatic event for all of the kids watching:

Can't talk about great action scenes without mentioning Game of Thrones



This is just a badass girlfight



Some of the best fights in Buffy involved Faith, and often because there's something else going on under the surface beneath the action. In this episode the girls had their bodies swapped. Faith, fueled by her own self loathing, beats the shit out of Buffy who is in Faith's body. It's really the first time I think that she decisively beats Buffy in a fight and the irony is its because Faith is really fighting herself. I think at this point she wishes she could BE Buffy, or anyone other than herself. We also see here how dangerous Faith is when her emotions take over. There was another fight Faith had with Buffy in the comic books where Faith kind of loses it again and nearly murders Buffy before stopping herself.



I love this one because it looks like Faith loses and the episode ends on a stinger where we see Angelus bite her, essentially meaning she's either dead or going to become a vampire. We would later find out that she had her blood laced with some kind of drug and wanted to be bitten. She wanted to bring back Angel's soul, essentially making him a good guy again, not kill him. The fact that she's going toe to toe with one of the most dangerous vampires in existence while drugged up is fucking amazing
