Y'all posting The Smiths without the most relevant song.

I really enjoy The Smiths, but most of the songs are about girls and for as fey as Morrissey is he is resolutely hetero. He's Dead Poets Society hetero, but still loudly so. He's slapping that bouquet against your girl's thigh.

All those bands are great.

Nobody in Depeche Mode is gay though.

Pure heterosexuality.

Now if you are going to throw the Cure in there, then you are going to have to throw all of Goth music in that and you are in fact, wrong.
True, but if Depeche Mode are getting put in the "gay" groups, then it's not that much of a leap to The Cure.

Robert Smith isn't gay. Dave Gahan is gay.

That's the difference. All of these bands have Gay lead members, including Joy Division/New Order, which is why I posted it.

Dave Gahan isn't gay.

Ian Curtis from Joy Division wasn't gay.

Bernard Sumner from New Order isn't gay.

It's not a big deal. A lot of people in the US always thought DP were gay due to the synth pop and wearing leather.

And this is just a fun thread, not to be taken seriously.
No worries, I think the Smiths are great, don't really care if Moz is gay. I always figured Depeche Mode and Joy Division/New Order were gay due to the lyrical content of their songs and in Martin Gore's choice of apparel. Still like all of their music.

Two of my favorite bands have leads who are crossdressers, Jack Grisham of T.S.O.L. and Lux Interior of the Cramps. In Jack's case, like all punk rockers in the 80's did it for shock value and to bait people into fights and in Lux's case, because he was Lux.

Morrissey has deliberately cultivated a great mystery around his sexuality.

That is why I classify Smiths as arguably gay.

Also The Smiths are my favourite so wanted to get them in there.

Tough choice.

Wham!/George Michael. I'm including his solo stuff.

I like to think that Bananarama were a gay band. Sweaty after a gig, all showering together. Sharing a banana.

Did you know that one of the members of Wham dated Keren from Banarama for about 20 years? Hard to tell which one of the boys it was though.

Hijacking my own thread, who's the fittest out of Bananaraaama?

To avoid learning their names, please refer to them as left one, middle one and right one with reference to the video below.

I favour right one. Also in recent photo's she's aged like fine wine, wonderful genes. She was also in Shakespeare's Sister, which I did not know about before.

Left is Keren, middle is Sara, right is Siobhan.

They were all nice in the 80s. Keren and Sara have had a lot of plastic surgery since then though so Siobhan now.

Bananarama also wrote this song:

I did not know that.

I've fallen a tiny bit in love with Siobhan. She is stunning.

To make a case for the Pet Shop Boys - they're still putting out bangers.

And to top it off they made the absolutely bonkers but brilliant movie "It Couldn't Happen Here". You should watch this scene. It's fucking magnificent.

Resting Bitch Face Courtney Cox in the middle below (Keren I presume). I always had a thing for that slightly moody Linda Evangelista look tbh.
