Thread: Beetlejuice 2 - Official Teaser
Didn't show enough to really get a feel for it. Though I did get a sense of…

I wonder how they'll explain Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin being gone. Guess they get tired of looking at Lydia and pass on to the next phase of death. I'll catch it on streaming, Michael Keaton should have some fun with the role.

I mean I'm not opposed, but not enough to judge it on here. Still, wait and see.

Ugh they did the thing all these reboots/decades-late-sequels do in the trailer, with the slow somber version of the song blehhhhhhh

Still, Michael Keaton will probably stream

It's the children's choir singing at the funeral of Jeffrey Jones character

I have to admit I'm pumped for it. The first one is a lifetime favorite and nothing in this trailer looks like "the streaming platform edited half the script to include the proper number of genitals and skin colors."

Meh. Looks like they will rehash the plot of the first with the new daughter.
I just cant imagine it will be as funny and the CGI wont have the charm of the practicle effects of the first. Its gonna be GhostBusters all over again.
At least its not an origin story making BeetleJuice into a good guy or BeetleJuices daughter is the main star all though there is still a chance for a bait and switch.
I expect full on member berries with tons of remember this from the movie thrown in with the worst parts being the new cast members and CGI.

Glad people seem pumped for this... I have no audio at work so I'll have to check this out later.

but also...
... are they just out of ideas?

I know we're all doom and gloom about AI, but I can't wait until creative people get the tools to make "big budget" films. I'm having whiplash from the amount of rehashed properties I can't keep track anymore.

I had dream about a Police Academy remake with the cast of Always Sunny... Dennis as Mahoney and Charlie as Zed. Is that a thing? Is it already!?

No but they made a lethal weapon sequel

The original was an all time favorite of mine. I don't know how to feel about this. I know it has no chance of living up to the original. How many reboots/remakes have actually been good? I just watched Road House and that was a fucking travesty.

I like how that actress is already type cast into a goth girl.

It's so rare I get excited about something new

Beetlejuice one is an all-timer

I cant wait to see this

Tim Burton is brilliant

Looks like it's gonna be another revival movie that's heavy on "Remember all that stuff from the original!"

It's been like 30 years since Burton made a decent movie. Surely he's due for a good one by now though, right?

Kathrine O'Hara looks great for her age (she's 70, if you were wondering). This does seem to hit way too many of the same notes even just on the trailer. Like the face gag is exactly the same.

I guess I am in just to watch Keaton set loose being a maniac again.

In Michael Keaton I trust. I don't think he'd be reprising the role without some level of confidence in the writing.

I'll never be able to un-see Keaton as the character from Pacific Heights.

I'm really indifferent to this existing. I wonder if that is what Tim Burton was going for.

Saw the full trailer before Furiosa. It looks ROUGH!! Theyre using some of the same exact bits as the first film. And everyone is just OLD. Who is this for? Beetlejuice is one of my favorite movies and this looked dreadful and sad.

Well OTOH he did the flash movie.

Seems like Keaton is cashing in on his member berries.

Cant wait for the Jack Frost sequel. His son can grow up to be trans and now Keaton has to become a snow man again but this time to beat up some terfs so his trans daughter can use the woman's rest room.

I enjoyed the Flash movie. It's actually better than 75% of the superhero trash out there.

Too busy, hopefully that's just the trailer.

Also, overacted, hopefully that's also just the trailer.

When Beetle is swearing and he catches fire it was pretty funny. Seems like Keaton is doing a good job. I didn't watch the whole trailer and I just assume everything made today sucks, so if it doesn't suck, that'll be a pleasant surprise.

I'm optimistic. The latest trailer looked like it has potential to recapture some of that OTT 90's charm, and there was no obvious woketardery.

Well, I saw it tonight. It was alright. It ranks well against the "30 years later sequel" list of movies, but it's not a great movie on its own.

I thought it had a lot of pacing issues and it tried to build up too many plots so the payoff of each one is abrupt and weightless.

Any mention/cameo for the Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin characters?

I don't know if anyone considers something like that a spoiler, so

Yes. It is said that "they found a loophole and moved on." And then the Wednesday Adams chick says "That's convenient." So it's their little wink to us to say yeah we didn't bother writing in a great reason for not being able to get them in the movie.
