I got the preloaded and ready to go! Tonight sucked at work so I'm excited for a good RPG :)

Hope you like it. Looks like it's only available in early access for premium version purchasers, so I'll wait for the standard Game Pass release on 2/18.

I picked Noble Scion as my background class. Seems like a good all rounder option with points for every skill. The godlike feature on the character is linda weird and reminds me of the clickers from TLOU but you can disable that so you don't have to see it in game. :)
 
Is it only me or does it seem like MS is trying to save money by reducing marketing? I didn't see much marketing content leading up to the release.

They did have that developer show where they showcased this game and a few others. But otherwise than that not much else for marketing.

Im about 2 hours in now and I love the art direction in this game. Makes me want to explore off the beaten path and see everything. :) Combat is early days but they gove you a lot of options between melee, range and wizard styles

DF video shows some shader compilation issues, also traversal hitches in places. Most of it can be reduced by having a strong CPU and capping the fps. Still, seems to be one of the better UE5 games.

I actually disliked the art direction when it got revealed. Now, like 70% of what I watched looked really good to me. Some gorgeous environments, especially maxed out on PC with hardware Lumen. The vegetation, ground details, beautiful caves, good stuff. Still, many of the character and enemy designs aren't great imo.

The Intro mission was flawless for me but once I got into the first open wod area i did get a stutter leaving town. Still not too bad but it's there. As for the visuals I agree with you they did a good job with the environments and hardware ray tracing but the characters are kinda meh and last gen.

Also im not a fan of the godlike look they five your characters because it reminds me too much of tlou 😂 but you can disable that if you don't want to see it.

What is a godlike look in this context, don't understand what you mean with that.
 
So what direction is everyone speccing in so far? Early on but Im leaning towards range/fighter mix currently using a two handed rifle. Does a lot of damage but slow to reload

Two hours in and absolutely loving the heck out of the game. This is exactly the type of game I needed to scratch that RPG itch.

Microsoft marketing letting down another game. I'm incredibly surprised at the amount of things you can do. The verticality and platforming of the game is something I wasn't expecting. It feels like Dying Light a lot of the time, very fun and tight parkour. Getting on roofs and entering buildings that way. I just picked up a quest item for a quest I haven't even found by jumping around between roofs and infiltrating a locked warehouse.

The combat is also fun and chaotic, switching between magic and melee. The first boss was pretty fun and well done.

All and all I think Obsidian has delivered a winner. I'm still in the early stages but so far I couldn't ask for more. Also your first companion is literally Garrus, how cool is that.

As someone that didn't get into the Outer Worlds the world in this fame feels way more alive.

At some point I'll have to give this a try. I wish the creator wasn't such a dbag as that took some of my interest away from it but it does look interesting. I'll follow what you post here @TaySan and see if it will be worth my time

I'm only a few hours in and I won't be able to play more until tonight but so far my impressions are very positive as someone that wasn't a fan of the outer worlds.

Beautiful environments and fun exploration with rewarding secrets. Combat is also satisfying with a mix of melee,ranged and magic. The characters design leaves a little to be desired and I experiened a crash but so far so good otherwise and I can't wait to play more! :D

Good to hear. I forced myself to finish Outer Worlds, but didn't really like the world. Still was better than Starfield.

I finished my first bounty hunt and got myself some cool gear. The dual pistols are awesome to use and kill the fucking spiders pretty swiftly :)

Finished all the bounties at Dawnshore and all side quests. Made it to the second location and this game still keeps on giving

The writing in this game is magnificent! Kai and Marius might be contenders for performance of the year award. Especially Kai

Also open zone >>>>>>>>>>>>> open world

If you wanna mock Sony's DEI practices or their remasters, go for it. If you wanna yell at Nintendo for their anti piracy practices, go for it. If you wanna make fun of Xbox for literally any reason, go for it.

But if we got a darling Western RPG on the line, you'd better shut up and stop your "hate".

Happened with DA Veilguard, happened with Witcher 4 reveal, happened with KCD2, and it's happening again with Avowed.

For some reason folks on DPAD have extremely sensitive thin skin when you poke at their adult Harry Potter simulator.

This thread is for people interested in gaming to discuss the game and other thread is to share grifter drama and a hugbox for people with political ptsd. Works quite well actually.

People could have been interested in this game until they saw the DEI.

If I want to talk about the game and complain over it has DEI then I would do it here and dgaf about any other threads since this is the OP.

I thought Era was from fragile people, but I see the same people who moved over here demanding safe spaces as well.

I can see my time on Dpad gets short here if discussion about the game, good or bad, is bannable.

I'm so tired of everyone being so fragile and cry to mods because people disagree with them.

How can there be so many trump supporters in here if they have glass armor like the retarded leftists.
