Thread: Anyone else see this Ghost of Tsushima "mini" sequel rumor?

Take with a table spoon of salt....but I saw a handful of stories today about a rumored stand alone expansion to GoT targeting 2021. Most compared it to Spider-Man:MM.

Here is one:

A new rumor claims that Ghost of Tsushima developer Sucker Punch Productions is preparing a small sequel titled Ghost of Ikishima.
Here is another with some rea

But there's the thing: all we have to go on right now in terms of evidence is a couple tweets from XboxEra founder @Shpeshal_Nick, and a handful of tweets from other "insider" accounts. As such, we're wary of putting too much stock into this rumor until it's corroborated further, although, again, it does sound perfectly plausible (which is why we're writing about it to begin with).

I really do hope this is true. That would scratch a massive itch. GoT was a fantastic game and until Sony has the next great hit, i could use a fix. While there are aspects of the story/dialogue/character development that I didnt care for, SM:MM was a tight package. Like 10-12 hours of content with enough new mechanics and the depth of story to carry the stand alone banner. If they can do similar with a GoT "expansion, I am all in.

GoT was fantastic, so an expansion in a new setting would be more than welcome.

Iki-no-shima (not usually called "Ikishima" in Japanese, so this title rendering makes me a bit skeptical) is a perfect setting as it was a significant location during the Yuan dynasty (Mongol) invasions.

Well, looks like it might be real after all!

Oh Shit!! Looks like the event coming up will be exciting after all! Please be more of the same, not some woke pivot like SP:MM. Which was a good game... but also made me want to barf due to its heavy handed woke narrative.

AND the perfect size for a SP:MM-like bite of content. The real life island is what 1/4 the size of Tsushima? That sounds like a good size for a few biomes, a dozen mongol camps, shrines, foxes, a few duals and a Temple or two.
