Thread: Any college football fans here?

I'm pretty much addicted to college football and will jump at any chance to talk about it. Tried to push it out of my mind in the offseason, but relapsed about 120 days before games resume, and I've been counting down since then. Ten more days to go!

Favorite teams: UCLA, Ohio State, Liberty, Florida State.

Teams I severely hate: USC, Cal, Alabama.

FSU? Seminoles? Really?

Florida Gators, all the way. Second to that, NDSU Bisons. I might watch a Tennessee game just to see them lose, because I need the laughs in my life.

Not an Uber fan but I do enjoy me some NCAA games. Bowl season is one of the best times of the year!

Teams I root for: LSU, Virginia Tech, UCF, University of South Carolina and University of Texas. But in general I support SEC teams and any Texas or Florida school against anyone not mentioned above.

Teams I root against: The Ohio state and Oregon

I only watch college basketball. I watch the NFL religiously as well but never really liked college football other than showing interest in draft prospects.

I mean, it seems like they have a better team than the Gators, and I'm not a big fan of the SEC tbh. I'm just starting to ease my way into FSU fandom, but in my neck of the woods that's who people cheer for.

Better than the Gators?? Bro, Gators are the #1 team in Florida and I wasn't even a fan until I married my wife. Her family are huge fans, so there is some bias there, but the facts are there too - in Florida, Gators are #1. Seminoles are OK though.

We are back.

After Frank Beamer its been hard to watch. But my dad played there and my grandfather played there. So no matter what I root for Tech.... even when they are the Chokies.
I'm excited for Brent Pry to take over but was hoping for a more known commodity at headcoach. The program has been so damaged by Fuente nobody was really interested. And then running off Hendon Hooker was another big Fuente mistake. Sigh. What a disaster

How do I not post this??

Seriously though, I dislike USC a lot less since they brought UCLA into the B1G and guaranteed a bright future for the program. They also destroyed the ultra-woke Pac-12, which is just as good.

We are aligned.

Also you feel free to post your ass kicking of the worst usc team in history. You earned it and cleared the way for Riley at opposed to Matt Campbell (which would have been a good hire but not immediately impactful)

Also thank you for acknowledging the big 10 move was spearheaded by USC. So many UCLA fans have been saying "you're welcome" to USC fans for the move. It's baffling. Excited for both programs with the move.

Also also, worth noting that I was too dumb out of high school to go to either school, so respect if you are a ucla alum.

Yeah every side has shit talkers, but most of the UCLA fans I know of and those who post on reddit are well aware that the move was orchestrated by USC. We're going to the B1G because they invited us, and that pretty much cleared our athletic department's $100 million debt, got us off the Pac-12 sinking ship, and ensures that our athletic programs are going to be among the best funded in the country going forward. My hostility right now is directed at Cal for trying to lobby Newsom to stop our move and stretching out their hands for indemnity payments. I hope their program crashes and burns into the Mountain West or Division III.

Also, I don't think being an alum is necessary at all, even more so in the era of conference realignment. The new structure is designed to pull in new fans based on the city they live in rather than the school they attended (like the NFL).

My family had San Diego State Aztecs season tickets which were mostly shitty with the exception of the Marshall Faulk years

It'd be nice if a single west coast team could be a legit contender but the SEC owns football for the most part.

I like Michigan over Ohio State, I like Auburn/LSU over Alabama, USC over UCLA, Texas is okay....

Fuck Oregon, seriously fuck Oregon the most overhyped school ever, every time you get a sniff of the big game you shit the bed. I NEVER want to hear about Oregon being a contender in my life ever again.

A lot of good games today. I'll be watching:

UCLA vs. Bowling Green
Georgia vs. Oregon
Cal vs. UC Davis (to hate-watch Cal)
Florida vs. Utah
Notre Dame vs. Ohio State
and a few others. A pretty well put together schedule is available here:

Big games I'll be watching today:

Alabama vs. Texas
Missouri vs. Kansas State
Tennessee vs. Pittsburg
USC vs. Stanford

I'd also like to see the Pac-12 after dark games, but I've got to meet with some friends tonight (n)

So many glorious upsets yesterday. Alabama losing to Texas would have been the best, but Notre Dame losing to Marshall was still pretty good consolation.

WOW ! Thank you man you just saved my afternoon.
Really thinking of canceling Dish but there aren't many options where I live

No problem. It's not as ideal as watching on a big screen TV, but I use it when I'm away from home, want to watch multiple games, or watch games on shitty subscription services like ESPN+. Good for emergencies like yours as well.
