Retro Comparisons has released a vid with 1100 games from both Sega and Nintendo consoles, comparing the differences.

Being a NES Snes kid, I was actually really impressed at how well the Genesis did in comparison on alot of games, specifically stuff like Earth worm jim and Aladin

I drank the SNES koolaid as a kid and came back to Genesis many years later. Big believer in the Blast Processing now and I LOVE the Yamaha sound chip! Even though Capcom's Aladdin is far superior, Virgin's game was shocking to see at the time. Looking forward to checking this out!

Colors and sound were usually better for me on SNES, hence why rpgs that didn't care about the processor as much felt better on Snes.

Slower paced spectacle shooters like Contra 3 also looked and sounded better.

But stuff like Gunstar heros felt like games that would be impossible on the Snes

Genesis may not have had the overall polish which the SNES had, but theres plenty of underrated gems in its library, and something about the way the bass on its sound processor thumps in a way in which the superior SNES soundchip just couldn't recreate.

GameGear was more impressive than GameBoy but you needed way too many batteries, and they still never lasted long enough. Made the entire platform moot imho. As much as I enjoyed the few games I had

Nintendo was better, its why they won

Playstation stomped both the second they entered the industry and remain the console kings to this day

I can't imagine how much time that took to put together. Extremely impressive scholarly effort.
