Article:
Rapper, actor and producer Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has caused quite a stir by dropping a GTA Vice City-related post on his Instagram account (thanks, Eurogamer).

He posted an image of the Vice City logo along with the message, "I will explain this later. This shit bigger than POWER trust me." Power is a popular crime-based TV series in which he starred and produced, in case you were wondering. The series ended in 2020, but its legacy has continued via a series of spin-offs, including Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force.

As you might imagine, that reference has caused speculation that Jackson is involved in some kind of long-form TV adaptation of Rockstar's 2002 video game classic.

Another option is that Jackson is going to provide his vocal talents to the upcoming GTA VI; the series has never shied away from having big-name celebrities involved in its voice-over work, after all.

I wonder was Blood on the Sand so bad it's good or just bad? Game Informer gave it an 8.

It's actually a really good arcade cover shooter. Over the top fun and great with a buddy. High score chasing is there too if you want it. I really wouldn't mind a remaster or something to play through it with TheBoys™
Interesting. Yeah, the review did say it controls better than his first video game outing Bulletproof and is pretty much dumb fun. I guess I assumed they were the same because those kind of licensed games are usually bad, with the exception of Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for NY.

Pretty much which was why it was so surprising it turned out to be a good game. You'd tell people about it and everyone thought you were bullshitting but it was actually one of the better TPS games that Gen which wasn't Gears or Uncharted. A 50 Cent game had no business being that good

All you need to know is there's a dedicated "taunt" button which multiplies your score and 50 really fucking hates helicopters.

It's a great arcade shooter, not even joking when I say it is one of my favourites from the 360/PS3 era.

Is Curtis hurting for cash that he's willing to shill for Rockstar? Last I heard of him he was nearing broke.
He likely is working with Rockstar putting together story pieces for GTA VI. But he definitely aint broke, the dude makes nearly a quarter mil each year off royalties. If he decides to tour actively he can rake in easily a hundred million if the demand is there, cuz he gets paid a million per show

Decided to check out info regarding this and came across these videos:

So 50 was worth $500 million in 2010 but his net worth plummeted to just $30 million today because of some bad investments and multiple lawsuits. Particularly in his retarded feud with Rick Ross where he leaked a sex tape of one of Ross' girlfriends.

So you're right, not really broke but still lost a fuckton of his fortune over stupid shit. I imagine this thing with GTA is another money making venture for him. In which case it's pretty smart. Even a small percentage of Rockstar's sales for a future GTA6 would be a huge payday for him.

50 is an interesting artist, but he's also kind of warped at times. A product of his environment. It doesn't surprise me that he's lost nearly as much as he's gained. But it's like I said, this is nothing to him. If he was willing to or needed anything he can just go on tour for a select amount of days

But if he's heavily involved in GTA VI that could be a fairly good sign for the game. Rockstar fell off imo and all hype is dead but maybe this can bring them back to where they need to be with the characters, plot, and the cities they intend to mimic

Given Vice City is just Scarface I'm wondering how they're going to adapt it without ripping off Scarface.

If theyre making a show, then I doubt it will be adapting the games story, and just take place in Vice City about new characters.

If theyre smart anyway.

Being a product of his environment is no excuse, especially when you consider that Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter comes from a similar hood background. Last I read Jay was sitting pretty at a net worth of $1.4 billion as a result of a successful rap career, record producing, endorsements and owning a number of successful businesses (including being part owner of the freaking Brooklyn Nets). And let's not forget that he's married to frigging Beyonce.

50 on the other hand, can't seem to shake his gangbanging ways and it's obviously done a number on his bank account. The aforementioned feud with Rick Ross is the perfect example of letting your ghetto instincts override your common sense.

It's not a show, it's obviously the game. GTA VI. We're talking about a guy who owned two filmmaking businesses. He's made shows. He's made several books off his shows. What he hasn't done, is collaborate with the creators of the third highest selling video game of all time. They gotta top that you know

Rockstar is totally unproven in the film industry. It's not a show. He wouldn't be excited about collaborating with Rockstar for a show. He can make his own crime cinema if he felt going that route again. But with the game? There's a much larger opportunity there. Rockstar is looking to repeat their success and exceed it. What better way than to hire their first cold blooded criminal? The man built an empire with a little help from Eminem. Dre. He's done it all. This is their guy

He'll probably be credited as a co-producer for the game and one of the writers. Who knows how much they'll agree to. This man has seen it all, and he's a genius. The pay will be there. I'm just curious though, this game will likely involve cocaine as a central theme if the rumors are true. I don't care about the online multiplayer. But I do wonder what kind of story they'll end up with… The characters tend to be pretty good even when they suck, if you know what I mean

But a show? Nah. He's probably currently carving himself a deal to be involved with the making of the game, if they aren't already past that and working on it now

We get it, you don't think it's a show. You don't have to repeat yourself over and over in the same post.

I said IF for fucks sake. We live in current year, anything is possible.

Shut up, pinky. I came here to talk games not listen to the jelly donuts wiggle in your 4th stomach

Rockstar fell off imo

This is such an odd thing to say. When and how did they fall off? When was the last time they released a garbage game? RDRII was their last major release and it's amazing. They continue to release massive free updates to gta online. Where did they fall off?

Dude you gotta be joking me, when did they fall off? It's been 10 years since the release of GTA V and it looks like there's barely enough to generate a rumor or two. GTA VI is probably going to release in 2026. That's thirteen years after GTA V… Who gives a fuck if they were making other games, they neglected their cash cow franchise and core fanbase all to push a decent enough game that somehow landed unparalleled acclaim with its online. GTA V was okay, it was alright. But to be pushing it for over a decade? An entire decade has passed without a new GTA, shit's lame as fuck man you have to admit that
