Thread: Home delivery tip question. Hurry he is 15 min away
Yeah, I know. My ex girlfriend worked in US as a waiter and told me a lot of stories about tipping. She was good looking skinny girl and earned a shit ton of money from horny fatties. To get hundred bucks extra from one order was not uncommon for her.
I also dated a girl that was a waitress. She'd come home some nights with 500 dollars in her back pocket.

always tip fat. delivering food sucks. most jobs where tipping is custom suck, and that's why we tip
A lot of jobs suck. In fact, most non-skilled labor jobs suck. But they don't all get tipped. It's pretty arbitrary which ones do or don't get tipped if you really think about it.

But, someone driving through traffic to bring me food is a job I'd tip for. If we didn't live in Retardville and they just got paid a normal wage, I wouldn't.

You already pay a delivery fee, why pay two delivery fees?

Do you tip the postal worker for delivering your mail?

Don't want to blow your mind, but a lot of people do tip their postal workers 😲🤯

Some people get tipped all year round, some people only during the Christmas season and most people don't get tipped at all.

Strange.
Mailmen get paid very well I think the Christmas thing is just to do something in that spirit of giving that is going on around that time.

Why do you hate postal workers? Not only do they drive through traffic to get your mail to you, many walk part of their routes as well.
I think you have me confused for someone who likes tipping people.

Oh, so it's about how well a person gets paid? If the postal service decided to reduce the pay of postal workers, would you start supplementing their income too? How about Retail workers? Fast Food workers?

Are you sure you aren't deranged?

You only tip people who deliver to your home?

I tip anyone society has decided is worthy of a tip and anything beyond that is just a justification, that I can justify it in my mind and feel fine about it is true though. I mean I kind of get the dance you're doing, but I feel like just about everyone we tip we have good reason to do it. They're either getting paid less than normal or there's a personal touch to their job and it's very variable how it turns out, there's only so much the guy behind the counter at McDonald's has to get right for you to get the proper service it just doesn't compare to someone handling a table of eight people at a fancy restaurant and making sure they're all cared for properly and in a timely fashion.

How would you know, you just tip whoever society tells you to tip?

Did it occur to you that these people are paid less BECAUSE of tipping?

Yeah and I'm sure if I stop tipping them that would instantly change.
If enough people stopped tipping, yes. In fact, in many states (maybe all) if an employee doesn't reach min wage after tips, the employer must pay the difference. So yeah, stop tipping if you want employers to pay their employees more.

But I don't want them to, I don't care if they do. You're the one who cares you, haven't convinced me to care.

Well you say no reason but I'll tell you this right now every other person I've tipped made my day better.
I am making your day better too. I am telling you the truth about tipping. People are guilted into it and shamed if they don't comply. Employers love it because it lowers their labor costs AND keeps their menu prices lower (because tippers will still pay more than advertised).

I'm sure that is true of some people but I actually like tipping people. And yes I have had service so bad before that I didn't do it but the thing is you can't just not do it but thank you forgot but you really need to do is leave a penny tip and then they know.
