Atomfall will launch on March 27, 2025 and is now available to pre-order. Atomfall is coming day one to Game Pass, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows PC and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Atomfall will also release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

In this official gameplay trailer, we unveil the dangers and mysteries awaiting you in our gripping new single-player survival action game, Atomfall. Atomfall is inspired by the real-life events of the 1957 Windscale disaster and the story picks up five years later in a fictionalised quarantine zone that encompasses rolling countryside, valleys, caves and even a picturesque English village.

But this picture-perfect postcard setting is a hostile landscape that hides a dark mystery. To get to the bottom of what happened at Windscale, you will need to navigate military encampments, delve through abandoned bunkers below ground, and risk your life in Pagan ruins. Your trusty metal detector will also help you uncover a few secrets buried beneath the surface!

Central to the dark mystery are the host of eccentric characters and cryptic organisations that inhabit the quarantine zone. These individuals have been cut off from the outside world for years and left to their own devices, so are anything but normal. Your interactions with them are important and will shape your journey. But be careful, they aren't all friendly and you will need to get to grips with an array of ranged and melee weapons if you are to survive!

A survival-action game inspired by real-life events, Atomfall is set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England.

Explore the fictional quarantine zone, scavenge, craft, barter, fight and talk your way through a British countryside setting filled with bizarre characters, mysticism, cults, and rogue government agencies.

From Rebellion, the studio behind Sniper Elite and Zombie Army, Atomfall will challenge you to solve the dark mystery of what really happened.

Player Driven Mystery: Unravel a tapestry of interwoven narratives through exploration, conversation, investigation, and combat, where every choice you make has consequences.

Explore this Green and Unpleasant Land: The picturesque British countryside, with rolling green hills, lush valleys, and rural villages belie the dangers that await you.

Search, Scavage, Survive: You'll need to scavenge for supplies, craft weapons and items, and fight desperately to make it out alive!

Desperate Combat: With weapons and ammunition scarce, each frenetic engagement will see you blend marksmanship with vicious hand-to-hand combat. Manage your heart rate to hold a steady aim and ensure you have the energy you need to reach for your cricket bat and land the killer blow.

Green and Unpleasant Land: The picturesque British countryside, with rolling green hills, lush valleys, and rural villages belie the dangers that await you. Navigate cult-controlled ruins, natural caves, nuclear bunkers and more as you explore this dense, foreboding world.

Reimagining Windscale: A fictional reimagining of a real-world event, Atomfall draws from science fiction, folk horror, and Cold War influences to create a world that is eerily familiar yet completely alien.

That narration sucks. Made me instantly disregard everything the game does and made me go "naaah".

I really can't tell if I want to play this or not.

I just came to say the same thing haha. In theory I should be quite interested, but it just kinda looks like a nothing game to me. For lack of better phrasing. Like it's one of those games that just kinda....exist.

I can't tell what it's loop really is from the trailers.

It's on GP so I'll check it out but I'm confused why I can't get a pulse on it.

Atomfall Reviews

Mixed reviews but apparently it is entertaining, with some issues and jankiness.

I've pre-ordered it from Fanatical, where it's 20% off.

Has anyone played this game? Seen some good to mixed reviews, but also a few people raving about it

I seen lots of people raving and comparing it to Fallout. I was never able to get into Fallout games, so I have passed on it for the moment.

Only big issue I've seen is the game length, and small issues due to AA gaming budget, but that's it

I've played a few hours of it so far. It's good. It has a creepy atmosphere. There aren't a huge amount of human enemies around, at least not early in the game, but they usually go around in groups and are pretty tough. They are usually fairly easy to avoid though.

The combat is average. Melee is pretty good, especially whacking dudes with a cricket bat, but the gunplay is a bit rough. It needs VATS.

The graphics are good and it runs well. I haven't seen any bugs or had any crashes.

It does have a Fallout feel to it, although the land is very lush and green. Having to find batteries to power things up is very Fallout.

How's the story and writing so far?

Forgot to post this a couple of weeks ago: I did all 6 endings. They were all pretty lacklustre, so unless you want the achievements, you can just do the one ending and move on. Although it doesn't take long to do most of them if you save in the right places.

Overall though, I enjoyed playing it. A solid AA game.

I didn't know Atomfall came out on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Outdoors there's a lot of shimmering in the distance but indoors it looks and runs alright.
