I'll be honest and haven't watched a single second of any of these films besides what I see in trailers but this is nothing more than a fart sniffing contest for Hollywood elite to make themselves feel more important than they actually are .

That's crazy. Letterboxd has a super woke demographic and they gave the trans film a 2.6 lol. How awful does it have to be for them to hate it? 13 noms LOL.
I can never understand how anyone could spend hours of their life watching actors fellate themselves and each other. Winning these awards hasn't been a good metric of quality in a long time. Sure, some winners are actually good, but mostly it's just about who was in the right clique that year.
Substance was actually great movie.

I want to give Nosferatu a chance when it comes to streaming but the only other movie by Eggers that I tried (the Witch) bored me to tears.
I watched clips of Dune 2 on youtube, i didnt watch any of the others. That black ozempic skeleton lady will win best actress 100%
Last two years had a decent selection of movies in nominees, though they usually give awards to shittiest of them.

These awards meant little before. But now with race/gender/etc mandates…. they are completely void of value. Basically (popularity based) participation trophies.

I was taken by my girlfriend, her mom and their friend and I actually enjoyed it. Didn't feel like 3 hours.
You must have read about that tip online, where you hit yourself in the head with a hammer 3 times before going and then it doesn't seem so bad.

I will nominate Horror in the High Desert 3: Firewatch for best picture. It's one of those odd movies where it builds up not for its own finale but for the next movie to come. I've seen this done with Spider-Man (2022) and Terrifier 3 (2024) but based on what happened in Horror in the High Desert 3: Firewatch I am most excited to see what will be next for that fourth movie

Not surprisingly, one of the most utterly insufferable, fake, narcissistic bags of shit to ever walk on two legs. There are Wicked promo tour videos of her and her almost equally insufferable co-star giving interviews for the media. It was nauseating to watch.

I liked the first one, but Part 2 honestly felt rushed, esp given DV decided to circumvent the whole Alia issue and condensed the timeline. I legit wish instead of making two films they'd opted to adapt Dune as 3 or 4 season HBO series instead. That way they'd have been able to expand upon the books and the characters in greater detail versus ignore them. A lot of people diss David Lynch's 1984 version, but at least attempted to cover more of the storyline.
