Hi fellow D-Padr's. I thought it would be fun to see what the creative types here work on for fun, or maybe professionally?
As I've gotten older I've really tapped into the creative side of my personality and have dabbled in short stories, music, and now video production. It's just something I do for fun and I've come to realize that it's kind of necessary for me as a person to be working on something, even if it's not even good. The simple act of challenging myself and piecing things together just feels incredibly healthy and rewarding.
This thread is also designed to encourage you to go out and create the thing that has been in your head for years. There's nothing stopping you from typing that story out, getting a recording of your music, or working on a short film. No one else is you, you are you and those ideas you have are unique and worth exploring. They'll appeal to more people than you can possibly imagine.
So with that, I present a short story I wrote years ago on a whim. The video is something I put together yesterday after going out and practicing with my camera. I mentioned it in another thread but I'm working on a short film with the ultimate goal of actively creating short films with my friends.

Instinct
You know something is there in the dark. Regardless of where you've lived, what house you've been in. It's there, waiting, plotting and desiring. Why is it so hard to feel comfortable alone at night? Sure it's easy to fall asleep when you're at a slumber party as a child or when you're with a significant other as an adult but It's not stupid. It has chosen you as it's own and It will fulfill it's desires. It's been here longer than you and It will continue on long after your purpose has been served.
Your friends, your loved ones, they feel the same as well. They too have It watching them at night, waiting, plotting and desiring. No one talks about It because we're conditioned to think that being afraid of the dark is silly and childish.
We trust our instincts for everything, driving in the snow, walking through an unfamiliar neighborhood, meeting new people, the list goes on and on. Why then, would you just completely ignore these instincts at night, alone, in the dark, when your mind is begging and pleading for you to turn on the light, to not leave your feet exposed, don't have your limbs laying off the bed. Your mind has been warning you and we've been ignoring It for too long.
Think about It.
It's always thinking about you...
