I keep forgetting to play Okami. Heard it's really good. Mario Maker is a weird one.

My comment is similar to the Left 4 Dead one, isn't there a sequel that is surely better in every respect? What makes the second one worse?

I played it on PS3 with the Move controllers so it played nicely but the game is very simple and very long. I lost interest in about a dozen hours of doing the same thing over and over again, add the lack of voice acting which is replaced with grunting noises and it just gets tedious.

Okamiden? Or Super Mario Maker 2? I have a feeling that Wii U controller is better suited to touch controls. But I have no interest in making level anyway.

Wow Google says 33 hours. Still I feel like I must try.

I have tried to play Okami on like three different platforms across three generations. I start it and then I get completely bored and I play something else. I hear it's amazing; I'm not taking a shit on the game or anything. It just doesn't seem to be for me. Have no idea why.

The opening for Okami is often derided as one of the most long winded openings for any videogame, bar possibly Dragon Quest VII (Where you don't even battle for the first 3 hours. Nevermind getting access to the vocation system, which still takes like 20+ hours.)

That said, Okami is one of the best videogames I've ever played and the best Zelda-like. Heck, I'll go further and say its more of a Zelda game, and a better Zelda game then some of the actual Zelda titles.

Okami can feel like a slog with its opening, but it is perhaps one of the finest traditional Zelda games I have ever played. I love the ukiyo-e style of the graphics and its novel combat. Truly a beautiful experience.

Okami is terrible. The game itself sucks and the controls barely function. I played it in the no new games 22 thread and had to quit near the end because the controls wouldn't work for a puzzle. Overrated PS2 art wank, like Shadow Of The Colossus.

Don't know why mario maker is here either tbh.

This is the closest I've come to hitting ignore in my life.

The controls didn't work for a puzzle? Who do you think you're fooling? 🤬

I bet it was the one where you had to hit the weak points on the wall. Git gud.

I was so mad on the first pass, I missed the part where you dissed Shadow of the Colossus too.

Trash taste lol.

I voted for Super Mario Maker because for me there's more fun piecing together and playing Mario levels, particularly themed around Super Mario Bros. 3 and World.

I'm not crazy about Okami, played through it once on PS2, but never finished it. For sure it's unique with its painterly visual style and brush mechanic. I just got bored with the gameplay loop after a couple hours and never returned to it.

However, Shadow of the Colossus hooked me from the very beginning back when it released on PS2 and even after completing it, I wanted to explore its secrets and continue to be immersed in its mysterious world.

This is one spicy take. Yum!

Okami is the best 3D Zelda game not made by Nintendo. The level of quality and design is up there with the greats.

It's also long as hell. You definitely get your money's worth.

Never played Mario Maker but I'm sure it's a fine game in its owb right.

I'd say it is the best Zelda game period, and lengthwise it's around 30 hours. For me, that's just the right amount for a game like that. Compare that to any modern Zelda. Breath of the Wild is 50 hours, Tears of the Kingdom is 59 hours (those are the avg minimums). And by my account, those last two are the best Nintendo-made Zelda games.

Man, I've wanted to play Okami for a long time but just never bought it or went back to it later down the line. It's on my modded PS2. You guys are making me wanna try it.

It goes on sale for ten bucks on pretty much every current platform all the time too
