Rather than doing separate threads for each stream as people aren't mad about Indies as a whole, I figured I'd do just one container thread with various Stream's dates and times

Guerilla Collective decided to be fashionably early for some reason and broadcast their Stream on the 6th: It's a whopping 2+ hours

Future of Play Direct Season 5 Broadcasts on Jun 8th 8a PT/11a ET/4p BST/5p CEST

this will be directly followed by:

Wholesome Direct 2024 Jun 8th 9a PT/12a ET/5p BST/6p CEST

Which tends to focus on cute games

This will then be followed by :

Latin American Games Showcase: Summer Game Fest 2024 Jun 8th 10a PT/1p ET/6p BST/7p CEST

Which will feature over 70 titles

Which then will be followed by:

Women-Led Games: Summer Game Fest 2024 Jun 8th 11.30a PT/2.30 ET/7.30p BST/8.30p CEST

As ever I'll endeavour to watch them all and post up any highlights

I watched the event and basically skipped through this whole thing and watched the trailers that I found interesting.

A lot of games felt like it's the same shit with the same artstyle and it's crafting and collecting. Imho the Latin show had the best games. The wholesome show was really bad and as was the woman led one.

The hosts were terrible in each one of them. The fat purple haired hoe. What the fuck?

Some games I found interesting and put on my wishlist. Let's see if they turn out good.

I was working on a project but had it on in the background. It was definitely a mixed bag for sure. I appreciate the fact that Wholesome Direct exists, however at the same time I think there's way too many people competing in that space and they are all kind of making the same sort of thing. I agree that Latin game had some cool titles. If you haven't already I'd say its probably worth watching the Guerilla Collective video I posted which was shown on the 6th, they had a broader more eclectic mix of titles on show.

When I get a spare moment I do intend to go over the indie showcases and pick out a few gems as there's definitely a few that stood out, but unfortunately there is a lot of chaff to weed out. If you have some highlights, do post them. That in large part was the point of this thread.

I don't have anything against all the showcases and I like to see what's being made in the gaming industry so I appreciate it too.

I just noticed that a lot of games just look very similar when I skipped through the trailers. Sometimes I didn't know where one ended and another began. Those games just aren't for me and the show was full of building stuff.

Will check out the Guerilla showcase.

Guerilla Showcase:

I enjoyed:
- wrekless - not sure if I'll ever play it. Put it on my wishlist
- Neonblood - looks like the Microsoft cyberpunk pixel art game which was shown but then never released and now in development hell/vaporware? I forgot the name
- killing time resurrected
- fallen aces
- antonblast
- clock tower rewind
- post trauma - I really enjoyed the trailer. Love it
- hollowbody
- Projekt Z: Beyond order
- The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest - hell yeah
- beloved rapture
- dungeon clawler
- IRON MEAT - my game of this show
- beyond the ice palace 2 - where was one?
- Constance - looks like a nice little metroidvania
- Mira Legend of the Djinns - another MV I'm a sucker for them so..
- Labyrinth of the demon king - looks so good

The Guerilla collective was a hundred times better than the summer fest. They showed interesting games and if a fraction of them turns out good would be great.

Yeah, I'm going to post the highlights. Starting with The Guerilla Collective:-

Wreckless

Not a Skater myself, but this looks like it could be fun esp given its cooperative

Deathbound

A Soulslike where in you freely swap between different distinct character types to overcome challenges throughout the game, sort of like Trine, but more combat focussed.. Cool concept, Demo available apparently

Knights in Tight Places

This seems pretty cool, an isometric combat card/turn based puzzler. It gives me slight Banner Saga vibes and I really dig the fun name and art style. Demo available.

Will add more. There's a lot of videos to cover.

You're on about The Last Night. It is still in active development, however after the wokies basically attempted to cancel Tim Soret he's essentially largely gone into radio silence over it. I also think that he maybe a bit too much of a perfectionist, and keep changing up engines etc . I do wonder whether we might not necessarily see a reveal at the Xbox showcase though.

This is The Last Night Trailer from 6 years ago

Here is the Neon Blood Trailer

It think it looks cool (I've wishlisted it), but it's not a patch on The Last Night from 6 years back (aside from the cool story animation stuff), and I know that Tims pretty much 10x'd the look of The Last Night visually as he has posted the odd snippet here and there. Odd Tales gave a Game Architecture Presentation a few months back and you can see a bit of the new footage in there: -

Is The Last Night back on track? As in, last I know the project was dead for some reason I do not remember.

It is still in active development according to the developers. I was thinking it could maybe be something we get an update on with the Xbox show later today, as it has been 6 years now.
