We're proud to receive the Diversity Charter Award for our Menstrual Leave benefit in the category of "Innovative Approach to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Business", which honors organizations showcasing outstanding commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace. 🏆 This category is chosen by internet users, so thank you to everyone who voted for us!

Here's a summary of the impact of this benefit during the first nine months of implementation:
🩸 39% of eligible REDs have taken menstrual leave at least once
🩸 On a monthly average, 11.3% of eligible REDs use this benefit
🩸 57% used menstrual leave at least twice, with 1% using it every month

"These numbers, along with the recognition we've received, show that REDs are using this benefit responsibly and highlight the safety and supportiveness of our workplace," said Agnieszka Szamałek-Michalska, our Director of Culture, Diversity & Inclusion.

But we're not stopping there. We are now part of Career Cycle, a program initiated by the Kulczyk Foundation. This initiative unites organizations and companies that create an inclusive work environment by increasing awareness of menstrual health.

A big thank you to all individuals who've supported us on this journey! ❤️

Meh.

I'm not really inclined to knock this because my wife endured through severe menstruation (see: endometriosis) and would have to burn her PTO as quickly as she accrued it because she was physically incapable of going into the office when her pain was at its worst.

I really hated that basically all of her PTO was being used for this. It happened pretty predictably, and she was exemplary for her employer. No, there definitely wasn't any special accommodation or legal disability to be had. The entire medical world pretended the damned condition didn't exist for decades. "Oh, you're just having period cramps. You just need to get over it!"

All I see coming from this is more women using it as an excuse to take off work and then wondering why they make less than men. Another thing to ponder is that when women work together closely, they all start to cycle together, which means the office would be fucking awesome to be at one week of the month. Imagine the convos though:

Hey Wachowski, did the renders get done?

Nope, the entire office is home playing sick on the rag.

This is needless virtue signaling and that's coming from a guy whose wife has extreme periods with basically Evil Dead blood pouring out of her and she has hardly ever missed a day. She just fucking deals with it. Granted, she's miserable, but she'd be miserable at home too. If it's that bad they can take the pill to mitigate the period altogether too.

Look at how work from home is abused

Most (but not all) of the women I work with/around are like 1/3 of a good male employee at best. They always are full of excuses.

There are going to be legit situations like the one posted above, but 9/10 times, the women I work with would abuse the absolute shit outta this. They already get to exist in easy mode at work, so why not push it further? Take a whole week off every month! Why not!

Menstrual leave is a good thing

Stfu
america = the world

male = default

Women pay gap more like women pay grab AMIRITE? Men keep being oppressed, disadvantaged and marginalized.

I mean at the end of the day, I don't really care about menstrual leave........until it impacts shareholder value. If it helps productivity sure but typically like most of these programs they get wayyy to bloated over time and end up costing more to the point where the company has to start laying ppl off.

Well that seems VERY narrow minded and frankly very sexist as well.

I just asked Google if men menstruate:

Having a period is not a feminine thing, and people of all genders menstruate, including non-binary people, agender people and even plenty of men! Menstruation doesn't change anything about your gender, it's just a thing that some bodies do.

So it's not a "women" thing. Please educate yourself.

Maybe this is all a setup so when CDPR releases their next game half done, they'll have an alibi…

"Sorry, we wanted to finish the game but half our staff took off a week every month, those pesky periods you see. So sorry about that!"

So just pondering this line of thought a little more, should ER doctors, deployed military, and other critical professions be allowed separate period leave every month? Should a theoretical first female president (assuming she's not old and hasn't hit menopause)?

And if so, shouldn't that weigh into their evaluation when being considered for a job? Should they make the same? Should they even get the job?

Oh wow bleeding out your pussy for 7 days what do you want a medal ? Suck it up buttercup and make me a sammich.

The fact that there is an award for giving woman off for pussy blood is the crazy part lol. I think Mexicans should get leave for montezumas revenge...

Sounds like you want to discriminate people based on their gender. Isn't that already hate speech?

You're just scared and fragile, oh no all these women will come into your profession and hurt your male ego.

I assume women with real jobs don't stay home because of menstrual cramps. This is more for the office girlies whose "job" is to socialize all day (mostly HR and similar "management" positions where the entire job is emails and Zoom calls).

Hope people scrutinise all the company's they buy products from, with this kind of eye for detail lol. None of us would buy anything. Period. Might as well just throw in the towel now. Just don't care, and keep your sanitary in check.

We didn't have to scrutinize this; they proclaimed it proudly from the rooftops, complete with corny little blood drops for bullet points. I feel like every time these companies do shit like this, it's like watching a bunch of drunkards at a pool party having a belly flop contest, like literally the most retarded shit ever.

Its low hanging fruit for a PR department, I wouldn't read too much into it. They know what side their bread is buttered.

It's kinda pointless though. If you don't feel well, just stay at home. Why need a specific type of leave?

That's how this should be handled. Have ALL employees get the same amount of Health Time (can be used for ANY health/wellbeing related reason) of which the women can use for when their period is a bit much. Its a simple non virtue signaling solution. And in the modern 'hybrid' work environment where it expressly is said to WFH when you feel you need to, makes this even less of a real problem.

But hey they got some snaps and kudos from the internet so..... #Worthit

You're right, there's no way to do this absolutely, banking for example, every bank is extremely woke, so there's no way to stop banking without unreasonable action, but when it comes to products that aren't needed like games, movies and TV, its much easier to say no.

Theres so many alternatives to Disney, Ubi, Activision ect, that its not a hard to thing to avoid BS like Suicide Squad or the new Assassins Creed.

A message can still be sent that people hate this pandering bs, by not buying games and movies from specific companies, and when those companies stop doing this, than move on to the next few that do preformative DEI, until there's a healthy alternative to Disney, Ubi, and Activision

Sure but lets say there's other ethical considerations on the level or above of DEI you'd end up with nothing. Its like Reseteras campaign on the labour console manufacturers use. What about the ingredients that are in all the products we eat, are they ethically sourced? What about the people who make those movies we like, we give them money but what if the director is a terrible person, we are essentially funding him behaviour. Is the toilet paper we use sourced from sustainable trees etc etc.

I don't think this is a hill worth dying on personally. Good on people who scrutinise every aspect of their consumable life though.

Good points, I don't think it has to go as far as campaigning Resetera though, with a campaign and micro analyzing everything, but it can go as far as if the direct product regardless of the creators is compromised to a point where you're enjoyment is affected, don't buy it.

Resetera is would be more inclined to try and boycott the Mario movie because Chris Pratt is a Christian, thats gonna drive anyone nuts holding that standard.

But if you don't like Christian messaging and they say, had Mario now tell everyone to be Christian, its directly affecting the product you're paying for and its an easy no buy if you're not into that.

But you're absolutely right, militant boycotting over every offensive action of everyone involved in a product isn't possible, and isn't q standard we should hold each other to.
