Nice a demo. I won't have time to play until later in the week but I will check it out.

@Dacon you bring the hush puppies, I'll bring the beer. This is the middle portion of the game so I think it's safe to say that we'll all be greasing our weenies for some exquisite content

Where did part one leave off?

Idk man it DOES look better than REMAKE, and like it's trying to be more faithful, but this just goes to show that when they stick to the original story the game is firing on all cylinders, and when they do their dumb fanfiction shit it falls apart.

I guess I'll just have to try and ignore the dumbass Zack shit if I play.

Also, if any of you are worried about spoilers do not watch this presentation.

Looks really bad. The exaggerated character animations and "am I kawaii?"-behavior just doesn't fit the otherwise realistic graphics.

Also, as someone who hasn't played the original, this "remake" sucks, because you have to know the original to understand and appreciate the new stuff. So fucking dumb.

That doesn't make sense at all. How would you even know what is new? You could equally say that only players of the original are annoyed by the new stuff.

Also, it's a demo of a portion mid-way through the story. Of course you're not going to understanding anything if you haven't played the original or the first part of the remake.

Hello, McFly, anyone at home?!

FF7 REMAKE, from what I heard, isn't actually a remake, but a sequel to FF7, ripping of the Evangelion-rebuild movies. It only looks like a remake at first glance, but actually you're repeating events, but try to change things this time. All of that requires knowledge about the original game. So HOW THE FUCK would I not be annoyed?!

@FactsAreDead you can just enjoy the game without knowing shit as long as you played the first part. Come on man.

Watched 90% and enjoy what I see. The first game seems like a demo in comparison to that one. Graphics look pretty much the same as I remember them from ff7remake.

Actually I kinda agree, I've been playing through Remake off and on over the last year and the whole time I've been thinking this shit would make even less sense to people who didn't play the original and have no context for what Nomura was doing with the fucking timeline guardian ghosts or whatever they are I dunno I just got to Wall Market

He's actually right for once, there's plenty in the game that simply won't make sense if you never played the original game.

One of my favorite moments: Making it outside of Midgar, the team gathering themselves together deciding to split up in teams and head for Kalm. There's something about that area that seemed odd to me though, not odd as in weird but the place seemed unusually familiar to me despite never having played FFVII. And I never played a demo of it that I can recall either... so I have to wonder where have I seen such a familiar place (elsewhere) in gaming and why did that area strike a chord with me? I made note of this in my playthrough thread years back. Maybe a picture was shown in a magazine perhaps? A familiar spot in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back? Maybe I'll never figure it out

The new content shared in the State of Play looks pretty good. Always a trip to see how much they fit onto a screen in these newer Final Fantasy games with the environments and the battles taking place. I'll have to play these games when the trilogy is finally finished. Still don't understand the story as much as I should. My first playthrough was great but I was NOT expecting such an involved narrative and the way in which it juggled all the characters, villains, and the various themes of the game. It really threw me overboard in that way, which I thought was inspiring. Still think about the characters a couple years after finishing the game

I tend to look at it more like a sequel at this point.
