This question pops up on the internet from time to time, but I haven't seen it in a while, nor this wide-ranging.

@Explosive Zombie kind of inspired me to post this when he joked about PS5s in 2002, and I got to thinking how mind-blowing that would be for people. 100% I would do that, and show my old gamer friends how cool it is in the future, at least in terms of tech.

I'd go back and tell myself all my favorite media was already created and to stop hoping for the future. I guess if I went back to when I was a small kid the Transformers movies would be pretty mind blowing, though, as I was a Transformers fan. What else... uh... yeah I dunno... most the best stuff existed when I was too young to get it.

We know it sucks right now in some ways, lol. But we live like royalty, in a paradise, compared to the past. Surely there'd be something you'd want to show off?
 
I would take my shitty 99 cent facemask back to the past so they wouldn't all die from Spanish flu lollllllll


Nah I would take a Switch back to about 2009 and show Nintendo and say MAKE THIS INSTEAD.

Every wireless technology definitely. Mice, keyboards, headsets, chargers. ALL OF THEM!

I'd probably want to bring a Quest 2 (if not aware, awesome all-in-one, full-featured VR and tracking, completely portable and no wires) back to just about any time as well. Just let them put it on and step into another world and interact with it any way they like, in times where even the Wii's simple motion was mind-blowing.

It's impressive enough today.

I'm also partial to bringing a Switch Lite and BotW back, and being like, this is just our portables now.

I don't know mad Max fury road, maybe far cry 5 I feel like that game would be most impressive to me as a teenager

3D printers, even 10 years ago, were pretty bloody mind blowing.

Taking one back to the 90's, and just making young me a bunch of 40K miniatures, out of basically nothing, that would look vastly better than most of the stuff on sale at the time, would have convinced little me that future science had invented magic.

I would take a pad back with one of those huge memory cards filled with 1000s of movies... Maybe an LED projector and one of those blue tooth speakers as well...

young me (from the 80s) would have died from the joy.

Smart phones are the obvious answer. I remember trying to steal glances at the titty mags in the newsagency. Why bother when I can get access to efukt from a handheld device?

I would want to inspire the past to make the future better, so maybe Clown world thread, to warn people. Not sure when the best time would be, the rot happened slowly.

Piece of piss for the most part. I'd get a fake ID off my older brothers dodgy friends, work for cash in hand on my uncles farm, use my knowledge of football match results of the time to make an outrageous amount of cash down the bookies, and spend the 90's going to clubs and festivals, banging hot 'ladettes', then seduce and settle down with my older sister's incredibly good looking, but so painfully shy she never met anyone, massively nerdy friend.

Not that I've thought about this all before or anything.

I'd show people the SSD. I think people would be amazed by it's speed and capacity.
