Thread: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC |OT| Loads of Fun
If I'm right that the last two were Returnal and The Last of Us then LOL unless they got recently fixed you don't know what you're talking about

Returnal is an excellent port, that has got continued support for months. Last of Us did launch in a bad state but its fixed now. I've had every PS release day 1 on PC and only Last of Us was poor (initially) and God of War had a silly DLSS over sharpening bug, but that got fixed.

They fixed it pretty fast.

Theres a few versions that makes the pc version better like better AA, ray tracing, higher res and fps.

Horizon zero dawn can exceed over locked 60 fps, and a bit better textures and graphics overall.

I'd say the pc version is the best, given you have a good px of course.

Can read that the PS5 is equivalent to a 3070,which isn't bad at all and especially for that price.

But you can still tailor your PC to what you prefer (talking about more than just quality vs performance options), and given the consoles uses amd and you can get nvidia on pc, you get more hardware for your money.

We all hear about how much stronger amd cards are out the box, but always manage to suck in regard of gaming.

Dlss in ps games on pc just eviscerate the ps counter parts.

I'd rather play ps games any day on pc than having to buy their consoles, and can use keyboard and mouse instead of a controller.

The same goes for xbox, even though I do tend to want one because of console only exclusives that doesn't hit pc, and to play rockstar games online since they don't care about cheaters on pc.

Edit - according to Digital Foundry it's more like a 2070s than a 3070, so it's not that strong compared to modern PC gpus.

Exactly. Same here. All the PS ports are superior to the PS5 version at this point. Yea, a lot of them released very poorly but were eventually fixed and run faster and look better.

Wait what console only exclusives that don't hit PC are you talking about for Xbox?

Games like gta v and rdr 2.

They got a PC version, but it took alot of years.

And the online part is heavily infested with cheaters, why I play like that there instead.

I ain't talking about released xbox games, but just third party games in general that doesn't hit PC.

Sorry that I didn't make that clear.

Man, your mileage apparently tends to vary on this claim...

Think there was a couple of legacy titles before the policy was implemented. I think chiefly The Rare Collection and possibly earlier Gears of War titles (only 5 is on Steam).
4, 1 Ultimate and Tactics are on Game Pass, but I see what you mean, wonder why they don't port the others?

So you are nit picking people with amd cards to fit into your agenda.

One of them literally talks about Nvidia updates not fixing it, lol. Also nitpicking is the wrong term, maybe you mean cherry picking? But whatever, cherry picking doesn't apply to the point I'm making that no matter the beast of a PC you have the game might not function well for you, but all PS5 gamers are having a good time.

I played it and finished it just fine. There were some rough spots with FPS dropping to high 30s but I got the advantage of seeing everything in 4k and mostly 60FPS for the most part. Once ND gets their graphics engine to support PCs and not just the PS consoles, we should start seeing more graphics features than what the PS5 can handle. (i.e. R&C for example)

This is sort of insane considering it has Ray tracing on an AMD GPU on PS5

What? That's very, very weird. I mean, even CP 2077 Overdrive, which is kinda an Nvidia thing, can be played with AMD cards, it's just an option to turn on. Runs like shit on AMD cards obviously, but you can turn it on at least.

Don't understand this. Is the ray tracing performance so bad that they turned the option off? Why do they need to work with AMD to resolve this? I mean, it's very possible. The console version only has RT reflections, while the PC release rocks RT shadows and AO as well, which are expensive. I can totally see AMD cards struggling and the gap between AMD and Nvidia being big. As in all other games with heavy RT, when a game uses multiple RT effects, AMD cards really struggle. But completely disabling the option? Shit must be bad. Not good.

Nixxes are great with PC ports, which makes it that much weirder.

I'm very surprised by this tbh. It makes Nixxes and AMD look bad, really want to know the decision making behind it. Missing the key features of the PC version and not even offering the RT from the PS5 version... what the hell happened.

I hear what you're saying

But let's find a way to blame the PS5 architecture

Both Sony and MS are idiots for giving AMD their money to make consoles. It's obvious that AMD isn't on the same level as Nvidia.

If these consoles this generation had Nvidia GPUs with DLSS3/FG, then we'd be seeing the 4k/60 + all RT features enabled.

Even the next-gen is going to be way behind if AMD doesn't get their shit together soon. Consoles take years to produce. If they are deciding the architecture now for the next-gen consoles, they better get some innovation going and very very soon.

Agree that Nvidia is well ahead regarding RT and AI features. Still don't think MS and Sony are idiots for going AMD. They have a price point to hit, and Nvidia wasn't willing to meet that. I remember Nvidia saying that it's not their business model. There are many good reasons to go AMD. You have an established relationship with fine tuned processes, which is extremely important. Be it development, support, logistics or production, working communication, known teams, a many years long well running system. For example, AMD already scaled their production capacities for the huge quantities needed for the consoles, which takes many years to do and to run smoothly with all the quality ensurance and so on. In addition, AMD is very competent in the APU space and basically specialized on consoles.

They may be competent in this regard, but that doesn't mean they would be better than Nvidia in the APU space. AMD is just not reliable for new tech or performance where needed. Even companies I work for would rather spend the extra money to have all development done on Nvidia GPUs. MS has more money than Sony, so at least MS could make the switch to Nvidia without being hurt financially.

So, do we need a PS5 SSD to make this game work on PC or no? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I get what you're saying but I think it's more an issue of at the time the game released if it had had this PC port what level of hitching/loading/perf issues would have been OKAY to people on a PC that wasn't occurring on a PS5? I would argue most PC users want a superior experience to console, not to have a brief loading screen/hitching when transitioning when the console is smooth. Maybe I'm wrong and even when the game released PC could handle it, no clue, I am waiting to hear how PCs handle it now even because it wouldn't be the first game to launch with some kind of stuttering/hitching issue in 2023.

LOL!

I'm going to download it from my steam deck and install on the MicroSD card.:ROFLMAO:
Guys you got it all wrong.

Sony ruined the performance of ratchet and clank because they know they would make it to pc eventually.

PlayStation suffers from these ports, as they would have been much faster if they were only made for PS5.

PS games coming to pc are hurting ps players as they get an inferior product.

I kinda want to go day one on this game, but seeing how much better all the Sony ports got over time, I'm going to wait a bit and jump in some months later. Even as an Nvidia GPU owner, no RT on AMD cards - despite the game being developed for AMD cards - is a huge red flag for this port for me. Nixxes are great and it can only be that one issue. But it's so strange and unprecedented, no day one trust from me here.

It was obvious it was Sony Marketing from the beginning but the fanboys ate it up.

I don't know why people care so hard about the Deepest Lore Of Sony Lies. Every single platform holder including MUH STEAM is guilty of it. If you wanna whine about Sony lies go for it. Seems like whining about how "fanboys acted" is even more important in these topics.

Like I said: playest thou any videogames, ser Masterrace?

I've got this game ready to go. Sadly I won't play just yet as no RT graphics on my AMD... integrated graphics.

Looking forward to your impressions! Not really worried about crashed, but performance and stutters. No reviews upfront, don't like that.
