Real shame that the last BF was this huge controversial shit show at launch.

Reminds me that I still can't finish the sp campaign. Tried it recently and it has the worst stutter. I have a capable PC, and played it for a bit some years ago, but at one point performance just started to crumble into unplayable territory. I think it was introduced with an update but never fixed.

it was a really good multiplayer game by the time they finished patching all the micro transactions from it. great graphics and great gameplay

Even the single player mode was really beautiful, sucks that the issues prevent me from playing more. The textures especially were fucking great. Incredible Star Wars atmosphere.

imagine what they could do this gen with those textures and gameplay style. the first battlefront of last gen is one of my fave games on the gen. loved the mode where you had to takedown the AT-AT's. such a cool game

I'm also a huge fan of the Battlefront series. All 4 mainline games are absolutely top tier. The first was an incredible game for its time, the second improved upon it in many ways.

The 3rd game is probably the most cinematic multiplayer game to date, the HUD is very neat and the environments, textures, animations, attention to detail, SOUND, it absolutely top-tier. Gameplay is decent but the feeling of being inside of the movie is absolutely second to none.

The 4th toned down the cinematic feel a bit but improved the gameplay massively, making it the best Battlefront game to me and if you are a Clone Wars fan then OH BOY does it deliver. The first time I saw how they replicated the Republic Commandos from the FPS games down to the smallest detail I was very impressed. If only it didn't bear the stain of Disney Star Wars on it.

Oh yeah, and when it comes to these "what if" Star Wars spin-offs then I would recommend the Star Wars: Infinites. A totally bonkers series of books culminating with a genocidal Yoda destroying Coruscant. The funniest and most outrageous series I have ever read from Star Wars.
