Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a modern masterpiece. If you've seen it, you'd agree. It's a movie almost tailor-made for d-pad's taste.

Anyway, as long as pretentious 2001 doesn't win, I dun care.

what is pretentious about space oddysey?

Nausicaa is very impressive. Like 2D Avatar. Best Myazaki film I've seen. 2001 is beautiful and important. A little weird.

It's between these two.

I am that moron sir. I fucking love that movie. Got a problem, let's take it outside.

Now, where is the poll, I need to vote for White Chicks.
My apologies, friend. Everyone has that one unusual choice in movies and games and that's okay.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind gets my vote.

Feels kind of weird to vote for it over 2001: A Space Odyssey but I just enjoyed it more. Both are really good movies in any case.
Thats where I am stuck. I like both. But I leaned the other way. 2001 is just a phenomenally well made film with sets and visual effects that were WAAAAY ahead of their time. It does drag in the prelaunch/moon bit, but Nausicaa drags in the middle too, so even there.

2001 is just such an iconic film for so many reasons. When I worked at Hollywood Video it was the movie I would put on when I opened the store. We had a wall of 4x4 27" TVs. It was great.... except when I would forget about that 'white noise" bit and everyone in the store would jump.

Oh and then there was the distant third of Labyrinth. Loved that one as a kid. But its not my favorite Henson puppet film (That's The Dark Crystal which I hope made this contest)

Ok, serious posting for once:

I hope people are actually voting for the movie THEY like the most. This is what I thought when Schindler's List won already: If people are just voting for the most acclaimed movie, then we can just link to imdb.com and be done with these face-offs. I'm not saying anyone specific has been doing that, but one could look at this round's candidates and think "alright, 2001 is a classic" and decide the vote based on that, even though he/she might prefer one of the other movies.

In short: Be yourself

You know damn well that's why I voted for White Chicks. No worries here.

I get that there are overrated movies that get pushed by snobs wanting to look smart (I think Dogville is one of those, haven't seen it though). However I don't believe that's the case with Schindler's List or 2001 or Nausicaa. These are all entertaining movies. Have you even seen any of them?

Have you ever considered others being themselves means they don't have to be like you?

Yes, seen them all, good movies. I just wanted to say it one time, only to make sure that nobody feels obligated to vote for the "obvious" choice. In other words: If Citizen Kane wins: lol

Yeah I won't be voting for Citizen Kane or Casablanca. There are far better movies made in 1940s.

I'm always voting for what I like the most which is why I voted for Super Troopers over Heat.

Voted for Nausicaa here. Not my favourite Miyazaki movie (it's between Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle) but I like it a lot more than the other five movies in the poll. Come to think of it, I've had the Nausicaa manga boxset for a couple of years now and really should get around to reading it.

I couldn't imagine anyone voting for a movie which wasn't their personal favorite in the poll

Schindlers List is a great film, wasn't my pick, but I respect it
