KOTOR 2 is absolutely brilliant, an absolutely incredible game. I was VERY late to the party, only played it a few years ago, but my god I absolutely fucking adored it. Controls were a bit clunky but I soon got used to them, but my god the game is just wonderful. Incredible characters, a great story, everything you want in an RPG.
It definitely needs that restored content. The end game was so rushed without it.
I played the original unmodded and honestly had a great time with it.
The Switch version of KOTOR is honestly the best right now, so KOTOR 2 getting the same treatment and the restored content as an official and supported add on is just glorious.
Hopefully Limited Run Games will do another physical version too down the Road.

Never played it for some retarded reason as KOTOR was one of my all time favorites and the MMO The Old Republic I also thought was fantastic. I bought KOTOR 2 for 5 bucks when Xbox had a sale a couple of months ago just haven't played it yet. Hope that dlc comes to the other consoles.

I don't think there are many direct connections to the first game. It's a self contained story, different writers.

You don't, though I played one after the other. They're both brilliant so you may as well play both because damn you'll have a good time.

It helps to play KOTOR 1
Not necessarily because of story linkages but because you can compare the themes between KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2. KOTOR 1 is traditional star wars but KOTOR 2 is something else (thematically)
