Welcome to Nintendo-Pad!

This thread is for everything Nintendo related, including games being played, games coming out and merchandise, themes, rumours etc.

(If the other Nintendo thread, currently trapped in development hell, releases this thread will move there instead.)

So what are you currently playing and what future games are you looking forward to?

Until Christmas I'm trying to refrain from purchasing any more games and make use of Switch online and my current game catalogue.
Today I started playing Super Mario Picross which is on Nintendo Switch online. A fun game but lazy Nintendo decided to release it internationally without translating it.

Still only half way through Trials of Mana but it's such a good game. Really feels like a modern retro JRPG.

This Twitter 'friend' of mine has such a nice looking town and island in Animal Crossing and mine looks like such shit. I'm jealous but I'm so bad at these kind of life sim games.

I want to get my hands on Dark Souls Remastered. Never played a Souls game but interest is piqued.

Also want to get Shin Megami Tensei V.

NANI?! What did you think of the opening ~ bombing mission? Now that's how you begin a game!
I might only be halfway through it, there's still more to bomb. I left the hideout and learned about the game's materia some, and then saved. There was some beautiful music at Midgar before Cloud was surrounded by SOLDIER and jumped onto the moving train to escape

Portable monitor/dock accessory for Switch by Orion

Techspot: Orion Switch accessory article

So Orion has gone through indiegogo and released a portable monitor/switch dock that takes the HDMI signal from the switch and expands it to a 12 inch screen. While an interesting concept, the price is around the same price as an actual Switch unit itself. It can be used on other things, but it is a bit expensive I think for use solely when in handheld mode.

I like when they release Switch games at the same time as the other versions. Hopefully that happens anyway. I loved Dynasty Warriors 8 Extreme legends on the Switch a couple of Christmas' ago, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying out the empire system on the Switch. I wonder if you get your own explorable house or something like that.

Thanks for the updates Grisham. By the time I'm finished the Super Mario Picross, I'll be ready for Paper Mario. Picross is a good value game, I thought I just finished the easy levels and then three extra tiers popped up. Who needs DLC when the game comes with bonus levels built in.

Was almost hoping to hear about a monitor that could connect to the Lite.

That would be awesome.

I do have that little stand/USB hub thingy though that basically makes the Lite like a mini-TV.

First year since becoming a gamer that I have not bought a single Nintendo-game. By far the worst year.

I've got three Switches in the house with kids, so I picked up a lot.

Grabbed the Mario Party collection, Mario 3D World port, the Skyward Sword port, Pokémon Snap, Metroid Dread (which I still haven't opened), and the Pokémon Diamond & Pearl remakes.

Despite all that, some of the most fun I've had with Nintendo this year has been playing Breath of the Wild again on an emulator (CEMU) at 4k and 144hz.

Really looking forward to when Yuzu (Switch emulator) matures a bit more.

The internet vomited up a picture of a Broli looking Gannon from BOTW2. Did I miss some new infodump on that? A quick google search didn't show anything noteworthy about it since e3.

I looked it up and from a tech radar article it seems that there is some speculation being built up from snippets of the 2019 BOTW 2 trailer, together with some redditor claiming that the villain will be the Skyward Sword Boss Demise (the Broly pic below). Seeing as how Demise was already one of Ganon's forms, it just seems to be speculation as to how buff Ganon will be this time around before being beaten senseless by the master sword. Both pics are from the trailer I think and are from the long rumour article. Source: Tech Radar BOTW 2 Rumours / Infodump

BOTW's Sequel

Could it be
that Yuga gained the ancient technology and is the one who brings Ganondorf's corpse back from the dead? I need someone to confirm since I haven't played ALBW yet

I haven't played ALBW either but if they can introduce time travel in Hyrule Warriors 2, they can give anyone special technology to save them from death. Gameplay is Legend of Zelda's strength, the larger lore is a bit less mysterious. Ganon is just going to be beaten down and that is how it will be.

Nintendo of Europe has trumpeted its best-ever week for Nintendo Switch console and game sales, for the week of 22nd November.

The company actually beat its own sales records two weeks running, first on the 15th November, and then again eclipsing that on the 22nd.

These records relate to both Nintendo Switch consoles and games, in both the UK-specific market and across the whole of Europe. Nintendo did not publicly provide actual sales numbers, however.

These weeks, of course, took in the lucrative Black Friday sales period and saw a particularly popular bundle offer fly off the shelves.

This bundle, which contained an original Nintendo Switch, a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe plus three months of Nintendo Switch Online, pushed the ageing racer to the top of the UK boxed game charts.

The period also took in the launch of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl on 19th November. Globally, these two sold a combined 6m copies over their first weekend on sale.
