Him and Buster Keaton were definitely brilliant for their era, but i couldn't imagine putting them on casually in 2023 when Im in the mood for a laugh after a long day of work etc

Agree, but I had never seen any Chaplin movies until 2020/21, whenever they showed up on Netflix during the lockdown. I figured I'd watch one or two just to check it off the list, but I ended up laughing quite a bit. Some of the gags stand up well and Chaplins acting is incredible. There's even a cocaine gag in one of them that took me by surprise and had me laughing pretty hard, might have been in Modern Times I can't remember. They don't stand up against today's comedies because 1) there's no talking so there's really no jokes and 2) humor is vastly different now. But if you put them on and pay attention, you'll probably enjoy it. I mean they're definitely funnier than most of the shit Hollywood puts out now for what it's worth.

I am going with Arrival of the Train.. Yes I know it was released in 1896 but I love the 10 year anniversary re-release with improved SFX and extra footage put back in... I really feel studio pressure is what kept the the Lumière brothers from relleasing this version to start with. I also admire the brothers replacing all the guns with walkie talkies.

For vintage comedies i really enjoy Abbott and Costello movies, and Jerry Lewis ones

Not super familiar with much else
