The latest trailer for Final Fantasy XVI is already complete and coming soon, producer Naoki Yoshida said during the "NieR Re[in]carnation x Final Fantasy XIV Collaboration Special" live stream today.

After talking about how Square Enix's American marketing team was upset with Yoshida for saying development on Final Fantasy XVI is "in the final stretch" during a recent interview with Uniqlo's UT magazine, the following conversation between Yoshida and NieR series producer Yosuke Saito ensued:

Yoshida: "We said the next time we'd release information is in the spring… And I'm being told, 'so when exactly is spring to you?'"
Saito: "After all, the NieR Re[in]carnation collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV is supposed to be in the early summer, and that's already next week. Right now we're in between spring and early summer."
Yoshida: "No no… The trailer is already complete. But it was delayed for various reasons. I think it'll come out soon."
Saito: "I've seen some other footage as well. I was really impressed by what you guys made."
Yoshida: "You were practically chuckling by how absurdly well-made it was. That being said, the development team has put in tremendous effort. From this point, we're fervently playing it through, polishing, debugging, and thoroughly optimizing, so I think we're going to take a little longer there. It's already come together considerably. I feel like we should spend a little more time in that area."

Can't wait to see it!

genuis square soft absolute genius. They just broke a guinness world record of being the first video game company to announce a trailer in advanced. Seriously they got millions and they can't release a prerendered video game trailer?

Pretty sure all cutscenes will be realtime.

Ditto Dragon Quest XII Flames of Fate, Dragon Quest III 2D-HD and Project Re-Fantasy.

Delays aside, it sounds like FFXVI has had a far smoother and organized development then whatever the hell happened with Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3.
I don't think we'll see anything of Dragon Quest XII anytime soon, but Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and Atlus' Project Re Fantasy especially are overdue to see again. Final Fantasy XVI looks to have a interesting story and I'm also curious to see the different party members since in the first trailer we only saw Clive in action.

Well I'm excited for the new trailer. I liked what I saw so far in the first trailer. Let's see.

Btw is ff 7-2 still in development or have they forgotten about it?
Kitase mentioned they hope to announce it sometime this year. So probably during Summer Game Fest or the Tokyo Game Show. I think Square Enix will show more Final Fantasy XVI first.
