Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin
Release Date: March 18, 2022

Will you be playing this at some point? I feel like Square Enix does well by its fans, this is the 35th Anniversary of the Final Fantasy series and to celebrate, this new chapter in the FF series can be enjoyed

I personally will not be playing it for some time, not until I get a PS5, but the game looks interesting. The final trailer sold me on it even if the voice acting is still hilarious

I chose "no" because I don't have the console to play it. Otherwise I would go with "undecided" but in my opinion, it actually looks like a fun game.

It's sort of reminds me of a more realistic Crystal Chronicles. Those were pretty cool Final Fantasy games. I was surprised how good that last Wii U Crystal Chronicles game looked. I think it was called the Crystal Bearers.

In fact, thank you for reminding me about the crystal Chronicles games. That's another game I want to get on the Nintendo Switch one day.

Looks like Chaos didn't invite me to his birthday party

I wonder if those games will ever be remastered as a series? That would be great, I want to play them as well. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, there are six in total in the series so there must have been a strong following for a while. Maybe later down the road it'll happen

I have too much to play. If it reviews well I will pick it up later. It strikes me as a game that will be half price quickly.

It won't, it's a 7th gen in more ways than one, it's edgy and has scantily clad women in it so expect "muh male gayyyyys designes" to be a major con from the usual suspects.

Like Nioh before it it's a Team Ninja game through and through so I'm it has great gameplay and a silly but entertaining story filled with "lol WTF" moments with a great OST cause it's a FF game and from the music present in the demo it's a banger!

Edit: I'm playing the final demo that was released yesterday and it carries your progress into the main game and it's a LOT more polished than the previous ones, the performance is rock solid, the resolution is higher and the loading times are very fast on PS5, I'd say if your interested download it, it's free and for a limited time only.

Wait wait.....team ninja? Plays like Nioh? I had no clue. My interest shot up. Hope it's good.
Yes it's developed by Team Ninja, who handeld the gameplay side, Tetsuya Nomura is of course the character designer and producer (he wanted to make this game since the late 2000s which explains the 7th gen art direction) and the story is by Kazushige Nojima (FF7/X).

I reached the last area (3rd mission) that's available in the demo and immediately preorder it (I'll have early access to the game in 3 days) I can't wait to go back, honestly I've enjoyed it more than Elden Ring, the boss fights are better and the constant loot and classes progression makes it more enjoyable for me, ER is a fine game (I'm 30+ hours in) but i think it was hurt by it's open world structure more than anything.

Sounds great. Ill definitely check it out. I absolutely love Nioh.

I'm going to try the DEMO today, so far leaning more towards "yes" since it is an interesting story concept in the FF series to play as the future antagonist of a main-line game.
