Thread: Which gaming YouTubers do you watch?

Until his final year, I really liked watching (well, more like listening to) Total Biscuit on the background while working. Not his long stuff, just his reviews.

Nowadays, I have a few I like for reviews and previews.

ACG is quite good, though his format is now very repetitive.
Mandalore Gaming because I find his voice and style amusing.
SkillUp for some decent news and reviews.
WorthABuy because he is amusing and not a shrill.

For analysis, I love Chris Davis, Joseph Anderson, Matthewmatosis, Never Knows Best.
GVMERS is quite decent, too.

You, dear d-padder? Whatsulike?

GmanLives
SNES Drunk
LGR
Old Style Gaming
Kim Justice
The Game Chasers
theDeModcracy
21 Kiloton
Iron Pineapple
GenerationGap Gaming
402Thunder

Plus a bunch of tech channels like Tech YES City, Gamers Nexus, Hardware Unboxed, Bad Seed Tech, Hardware Canucks, AIR BEAR....

ACG for Reviews for sure. I kind of dip around IGN, Gamespot, Skill up and a few others (I like to get a cross-section of opinions).

One Proud Bavarian for anything CKIII related

Kraze Gaming for anything related to No Mans Sky

Mr Freeze2244 for anything Hitman related

I don't often watch a lot of streaming but I got into watching Christopher Odd years back when he was playing XCOM and kind of enjoy his general approach to games, so I will give him a watch now and then.

Beyond that. No one regular, but I do quite enjoy Never Knows Best and Raycevick for analysis. But tbh I tend to just use the search and see who the algorithm throws up, esp if it's smaller titles.

Also I support @VlaudTheImpaler in that Doc can be fun to tune into occasionally...very occasionally

Also Digital Foundry

I quite like Jays Two Cents for hardware stuff. I find him a nice compromise between Linus (who can be a bit OTT )and Gamer Nexus who can be a bit too nerdy for my tastes.

Less and less gaming ones with any consistency as time goes.

Pretty much just watch Ron Paul for his Liberty Report, Hickok 45 and a few chiropractor ones that I just find cathartic. Even then its sporadic.

For everything else its just one offs that come up when searching a topic. Sure I steer towards familiars, but don't go looking for them. Did this recently when I was building my PC. Watched dozens and dozens of reviews and builds. A lot of the time I would be able to watch the same person review each piece of kit, which is nice for comparison sake. But damn do they all have that same "work space"

Raycevick
Whitelight
The Act Man
GmanLives

Edit: some good documentary-style stuff on a channel called Noclip Video Game Documentaries as well.

I started watching Hickok45 last week. Obliterating watermelons with an AK from close range is surprisingly entertaining.

I watch a lot of Halo related stuff so Rocket Sloth and a bunch of others.

I like The Act Man. His collection on Halo 5 is still awesome

I like his style. Real mellow, self abasement and overall welcoming demeanor. I would watch that man shoot anything on his range while he talks about it and its history (or his personal experiences with one). Sure he pretty much never says anying bad about a gun, but I am not there for reliability or torture tests. I think he is the best GunTuber for new firearm owners. You can learn a lot with out all the tacticool nonsense.

Many a True Nerd, UhTrance and Bawkbasoup, anyone who doesnt scream every two minutes and be overly obnoxious gets a click and a return (if its a game I like, dont give too much of a crap about the person most of the time tbh)

For news and gaming interest, Cherno, Digital Foundry,ReviewTechUSA and the Quartering. Also a guy I think name is Spawnwave?

Pour one out for Mark from ClassicGameRoom loved that 10 years ago :/

FightinCowboy

I also Subscribe to a bunch of random Path of Exile Channels but don't really watch them unless I need build ideas.

On Twitch the only person I watch is Luality, and I don't even watch her channel all that often but she's easy on the eyes and actually plays games.

I barely watch some video of cohhcarnage or something from dunkey.

I use the others to watch the gameplay but i don't care about what they say, unfortunately is rare to have gameplay videos without some annoying voice over.

I only watch Digital Foundry because I'm a graphics whore. Other than that, no gaming related YouTube channels.

Super GT - Good racing game content.
Jontron - Old stuff I think is funny.
Residence Of Evil - RE news and playthroughs.

Easy Allies - a holdover from the glory days of Gametrailers. I loved the content Brandon Jones and his crew produced back then, but they've slowed a bit nowadays and focus more time on Twitch. It especially hasn't been the same since Kyle Bosman left.

OutsideXbox/OutsideExtra - Another solid pair of gaming channels, though lately they've been focusing more streaming on Twitch. I think Andy Farrant and Jane Douglas are especially good as hosts.

Gamology - I mostly watch it for the Experts React to Games videos. It's always nice to hear people with knowledge of a certain subject share their insights in how games attempt to portray said subject. Whether it be martial arts, ancient architecture, etc.

WhatCultureGaming - Their videos are mostly for a laugh, though on occasion they do come out with something interesting and insightful.

AngryJoe - Joe does some really indepth reviews of games, despite his personality being grating at times.

ProJared - Like AngryJoe, Jared does some really indepth videos on games, especially old ones. I think his reviews on VirtualHydlide and Two Worlds were hilarious. It's a shame his personal life as a perverted cuck has tarnished his image.

Does anyone have any Lore based videos or letsplayers like True Masters and Morons or Epicgamebro?

Sinatar - https://youtube.com/user/Sinatar

TheHeroOfLight - https://youtube.com/user/IAmTheHeroOfLight

AuldDragon - https://youtube.com/c/aulddragon

AVGN - https://youtube.com/AngryNintendoNerd
(not sure if that counts but I do also like James and Mike playthroughs)

GamerZ / Less Pixels -

GrimmoTV - https://youtube.com/channel/UCFtsN1XzljdeasXpooDYMlg

Erin Plays - https://youtube.com/c/ErinPlays

Lahndon - https://youtube.com/user/Lahndon

Besides AVGN, I would say Sinatar is my current favorite. He does a lot of older games and because of him, I learned about some really amazing games I never knew about such as Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land.

I don't usually watch video game related youtubers outside digital foundry for graphics stuff and a few game developer youtube channels(like blackthornprod.). Sometimes just search for old full playthroughs of some old games, or search for a recap of a series if going to buy a new game. But that's about it. Not that into watching multiplayer or nonstory focused gameplay.

Last Stand Crew (ACG, Matty, Colin, Dustin, etc.)
Angry Joe for long-form reviews of what I'm interested in
Easy Allies, though it was better with Kyle, and I get the impression they're drifting woke
Razorfist, I just fucking love this guy
IGN reviews and podcasts, understanding that it's pure access journalism

I can totally appreciate some straight up, no commentary channels to put on in the background while I work. Usually go with Throneful or Mystical Gaming for that, racing games and multiplayers shooters respectively.

AVGN
Angry Joe for certain reviews
Spawn Wave for daily news
Metal Jesus Rocks because he is a giant nerd and I love everything about it, lol.
HappyConsoleGamer (who doesn't love Johnny, Kim, and Robman?)
Digital Foundry of course.
Nerrel, doesn't make videos too much but the dude is a master in delivery, editing, script. His videos are hilarious. RE6 - Does it suck? I settle it forever.
ModernVintageGamer, great video on mods/ mostly softmods.
Sega Lord X - great reviews and retrospectives
Project COE - great reviews for older games. Lots of great Saturn coverage.
DanteRavioli for RE challenges. Dude killed the alien looking boss in RE4 by kicking open the door repeatedly, lol. Zoomer but entertaining all the same.
Matt McMuscles - What Happened? is a great series going over games that exerienced development hell

Honorably mention (used to watch them but don't have time anymore):

Necroscope86, he doesn't stream anymore but there's an archive on YouTube. Entertaining Brit, fantastic accent.
Kikoskia, another Brit, fantastic accent, plays obscure/retro games and is good with entertaining commentary.
666theheartless666 - Hasn't streamed in years, just vanished. Only ever watched his RE6 Let's Play but it's fucking hilarious. Played on launch night, totally blind. So much frustration. Let's Play RE6
