Fan of Wh40k but never read up much about Warhammer Fantasy/Age of Sigmar.

I know Sigmar is basically an in-continuity reboot. As in the whole world literally changed, looks less like our world geographically, has a bunch of other worlds connected and the Chaos God Belle Delphine was chained up in between dimensions and gutted so all those elven souls she ate escaped her belly.

Age of Sigmar always felt like a "we need to sell more minis" kind of move to me.
No idea why they felt they needed to trash "the old world" for this weird shit.

Maybe @Stilton Disco can enlighten me? : /

Since they threw "the world that was" into the bin and age of sigmar got point values, so you can actually play it normal, it makes them money. The old Warhammer fantasy was a money pit that nobody played apart from a smaller and smaller hardcore fanbase. So yeah, as so often money is the answer.
