[Thing on a Spring]

Has anyone played TF2 recently and is it as welcoming to newcomers as most long established shooters (not very)? I played a tiny bit back in 2017 or thereabouts when I first started dipping my toes into PC gaming but I don't remember a lot about it. Kinda looking for a new online shooter to supplement my Apex Legends woes as its been faltering in recent months with some retarded decisions made by whatever devs are currently in charge of it.
