Citadel is apparently a MP game set in the Half Life universe. My guess in a Combine.... well.... Citadel.

The other seems to be a new single player experience.

So far Half-Life has been pretty good about not being that.

The diverse characters introduced in HL2 are actually well written and likeable.

But knowing nowadays, upcoming games could start this crap. Falcon and Winter Soldier is already placing race card crap two episodes in.

Anyways I'm stoked for a new single player game preferably one that doesn't require VR.

Three things:
- I'll believe it when I see it - Valve don't really ship software anymore, though hopefully Alyx was the catalyst to improving that situation (I have VR gear, it was ok but didn't blow me away)
- I'd love more Half-Life - let's face it, they were cracking games
- This reminds me I really need to have a proper crack at Black Mesa

Half-Life Alyx is a fantastic game and one of the few games that I couldn't put down once I started. I beat it over the course of a week. I am looking forward to more of it, and I hope that Citadel features Barney. Maybe if those two do well we can finally get a Half-Life 3. They altered the ending of Half-Life 2 Episode 2 with Half-Life Alyx, so I would imagine they weren't satisfied with that ending and needed a reason to retcon it before they could move forward.

Valve has worked on tons of Half-Life projects over the years that never saw the light of day, or had parts eventually merged into Alyx.

How much of a horror element is there to HL:Alyx as a matter of interest @JuiceboxHero ? I have VR, but beyond NMS and a few other titles I haven't dug into it much

It's more tense in the zombie areas than horror. There are no jump scares, it's just when the lights are out it's pretty spooky and you have to be careful.
