One of the best moments in television .

It's such a great example of what makes the show special. Major Briggs could have easily been written as a typical, emotionally distant military figure. But instead, they gave him real depth, someone who genuinely cares and sees the best in people, especially his son. While the surreal elements often get the spotlight, it's the show's deeply human moments like that which gave it its heart and a sense of optimism, even when the story dives into some of its darkest possible subject matter.

Everybody who likes the orignal show needs to watch The Return, which is a very rare case of something coming back so long after a classic original work and being just as good.

I'm 3 episodes out from finishing The Return and man, what an absolute ride. Favorite season. I'm actually really bummed now that it's so close to ending for me. Honestly, as soon as I'm done, I think I may just run through the show and the movies again.

Speaking of The Return, probably most unexpected funny scene in the season

Let us know what you think once you're done. That ending, holy shit.

I'm in the midst of a rewatch right now, mid Season 2 (episode 14) and it still holds up great. The second half of S2 sucks outside of the ending of course.

I'm going to TRY The Return again afterwards, I bailed after 8 or 9 last time because I absolutely hated it. I'm sure I'll still hate it.

You probably don't remember me sending that to you years ago, do you lol. I did say you won't get this now, but it's still funny as hell.

Curious everyone's interpretation of the end. I have a simplistic view of it, but I have never deep dived the ending let alone the whole fking serious.

Man Coop really got screwed being stuck in the asshole zone his whole life....comes back retarded....Audrey is no longer hot. What a blow.

Really didn't care for The Return. Might have to give it another try. OG series is just so rewatchable on its own.

Nope, sure don't. I probably didn't think it was funny back then without the context.

Ok, sooooo... what do I think... I think I powered through the last 3 episodes last night and didn't get to bed until 0130 and I went to bed super pissed at the ending. And as I laid there stewing in my anger, I sat on my phone, theory scrolling Google and Reddit for another hour as to what the hell I just watched.

Average David Lynch first viewing experience, but it does make his projects a lot more interesting on re-watch when you think you have a grasp of his intentions.

So.....I'd have to watch it again, but I believe the ending strongly implied
Coop and Diane died and accepted their fate.

I never looked too much harder into it after that but I need to rewatch.

Almost done S2. What a slog that second half is. There's an edit of it removing all of James and all of the retarded bloat that might be okay - but man. Such a slog.

Finished Season 2. Ends great obviously.

Watched episode one of The Return and it's pretty solid! Haven't seen since the premiere day, but it's a solid start.

I think once Dougie is birthed by a light socket it falls apart for me. TBD.
