THQ Nordic has announced the establishment of Campfire Cabal, a new studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark founded by former Expeditions: Rome, Hitman, and Hunt: Showdown developers.

Campfire Cabal, which is led by its management team and creative director Jonas Waever, will focus on "high-quality, narrative-driven RPGs," and is currently working on an unannounced project.

i dunno. what is narrative driver rpg and what makes that so special that all the other rpgs which I believed had narrative in the game before now don't have?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but narrative RPGs tend towards Bioware-style. Where decisions affect actions and you are kind of free to choose your own adventure.

This is in contrast to character/story focused RPGs like say, Chrono Trigger, where you are more locked into what's going on and have less agency over the game.

Jesus, we've gone from game announcements of things coming out in the reasonable future, all the way to announcements of the creation of a studio to make a game. Fucking hell, wake me when this is actually a thing in 4+ years.
