Jyamma Games CEO Jacky Greco had some stern words to share on the matter. "You can ask Xbox why they haven't answered us for 2 months. Obviously they don't care about Enotria and they don't care about you. [...] The context is open a store page and submission [sic], we've Xbox Series X|S version ready, but we can't proceed with submission and release, I spent a lot of money for porting and they decided to ignore us."

That's unfortunate. Game is shaping up really well, atmospheric and with fresh ideas for the Souls genre. Hope Xbox will stop ignoring them, for the game to be sold on Series console as well.

Well this bodes poorly for Xbox's current behind the scenes competence and resources.

Believe it or not, I still hold out a little bit of hope that MS take the department in hand, lay off the entire management and bring in some industry veterans and successful studio heads to get Xbox under control and back into its old early 360 glory days.

I think it's far more likely they'll just shut it all down tomorrow, fire everybody involved, close all the studios, stick all the IP's they own in a forever limbo of unused right, then simply treat the whole department as a tax write off, but the hope remains.

lol their mistake porting it on Xbox.
At this point any real customer have pc or ps5
 
Xbox has been coasting on the reputation built during the J. Allard era (2001-2008) for far too long. The fact that it even survived the Mattrick era is surprising, and now under Spencer, it's become the most corporate platform in the market. With that kind of environment, no wonder they're making boneheaded mistakes. J. Allard era isn't coming back. It's time for Xbox to fade away.

Yeah but they don't ignore Ubisoft ever, and they've been sub-indie quality for a long minute now... I mean, even their latest Assassin's Creed basically looks like a blatant attempt to rip off that Wukong game!!
 
Xbox fans - "of course MS should be allowed to buy all the publishers and control the entire industry. Who better?!"

They did a couple things extremely well and they suck at everything else. You don't want them in charge of anything you enjoy. Don't be a retard.

At this point MS just needs to partner with Valve and bring SteamOS to the Xbox. Turn the system into the console version of the Steam Deck.

As far as I know the Series X uses an AMD GPU, so there would be very little needed to port SteamOS to the system. If the Series X were jailbroken, it probably would have been done already.

The Steam Deck is both the same hardware architecture generation and almost exactly in line with the power to resolution scale as the XSS and XSX. It's why it runs current gen games so well.

Putting SteamOS on them would be an absolute piece of piss, and make them vastly more capable machines, but I doubt MS would be happy to let a competing operating system be used on their gaming consoles, sadly.

Dunno if I'd call it whining. They wanted their game to be on Xbox, submitted it, got ignored, kept asking about it, got ignored for months.

Then the community kept asking the devs on Discord about the Xbox version because the game is close to release, so the CEO answered to the community, obviously frustrated because they're a 65 dev team that put their souls into the game, trying to release an ambitious game on multiple platforms, needing every single sale because they invested a lot into this game. He said that Xbox doesn't seem to care about the game and the fans.

I'm in the Discord, they're good and very passionate guys.

So when you submit a game to first part you get reports almost daily about how the submission is going so you can work on fixes for resubmission (or negotiate waivers). Nintendo is the one exception where you get the report at the end.

If you submit a game and it's months with no update… I'm thinking you did the submission wrong. I have shipped over 20 games at big and small studios. In all of them I could get on the phone with my submission rep and get updates.

And a 65 devs is a decent sized team. In the 360 era our Tiger Woods team was around that.
