Blizzard has confirmed additional details about its plans to reveal the next World of Warcraft expansion.

The studio said last month that it would announce a new World of Warcraft expansion during an online event on April 19, and it has now confirmed exactly when and where fans can tune in.

Players will be able to watch the reveal stream on YouTube and Twitch from 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST.

World of Warcraft, which has received a new expansion roughly every two years since its 2004 launch, last got one in November 2020 in the form of Shadowlands.

"With the story in the Shadowlands coming to a conclusion, the time is at hand to get a sneak peek at what's next for the heroes of Azeroth," Blizzard said on Tuesday.

Wowhead reported earlier this month that the next World of Warcraft expansion may be called Dragonflight based on an apparent leak.

Following an update to the World of Warcraft website, its public source code reveals strings for the Dragonflight Base, Heroic and Epic expansion pre-purchases. It also points to a new, albeit currently inaccessible URL, dragonflight.blizzard.com.

Wowhead also previously datamined several items which appeared as if they could be rewards tied to the new expansion, including a green or emerald dragon mount.

Blizzard hasn't officially announced World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Classic, but surveys recently sent to some fans suggest it might not be long before it does.

Last month, Blizzard reportedly sent a survey to selected community members asking how likely they would be to play Wrath of the Lich King in 'Classic' form.

And in a new survey (via Wowhead), the company asks respondents to consider two options "for a bundle that could be purchased for the next World of Warcraft Classic package".

A $29.99 option includes a character level boost gift, character transfer, pet, Lich King themed mounts usable in Classic and modern WoW, and 30 days of game time.

A $49.99 option would presumably include all of the above, plus boosts for characters to level 68 and a toy.

World of Warcraft Classic was released in August 2019 and was followed by World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic in June 2021.
