Thread: The Witcher is back for Season 3 in Summer 2023
Nope. I have no faith that this will be even be good after that awful 2nd season. I made a thread about my various complaints about the show and I'm pretty sure it'll be pretty much the same this time. The only good things about Netflix's The Witcher are Henry Cavill as Geralt, Joey Batey as Jaskier and surprisingly Freya Allan as Ciri.

I'll only watch it just to see how much they've messed up but I'm not touching that stupid Blood Origin movie.

I couldn't even finish season 2. And that's a shame bc I enjoyed season 1 quite a bit. I think the show got invaded by purple hairs or something.

Also loved season 1 and never finished season 2.

I really hate season 2 if it wasn't for Cavill. Season 1 is tolerable, and I quite enjoy it as it try to follow the book closely.
Not sure about Season 3 and this spin-off. I can't believe Sapkowski hates the game but loved the series.

oh, here's why

Yeaahhhh... I can understand Lauren Hissrich thinking like that since she's a Hollywood producer and probably works around people who hold the same beliefs. But really Tomasz Bagiński? How much did Netflix to pay you to suck their cock and sell out your cultural identity?

I'm not surprised by Andrzej Sapkowski though. Guy's a fucking sellout who would happily sing praises to Netflix for butchering his work as long as he got paid. It completely invalidates his critiques of CD Projekt Red's games based on The Witcher. You know? The games that got people outside of Eastern Europe to notice him and his work for the first time? But we know he'll never give them any credit for his newfound fame because he was stupid enough to sign away the royalties for a one time payout.

Starting to make sense now why I couldn't even watch the second season after enjoying the first.

It's a shame bc I really like Cavill in the role and they were doing such cool things visually. But it's a trash show already.

Meh., love Cavill in the role, but the forced diversity got utterly absurd during Season 2 to the detriment of reason. I have a feeling that in large part the reason why Cavill is happy to don the Superman Mantle again is because he knows The Witcher is turning into a stinker, and it's probably unlikely that Netflix will continue with the series after the 3rd season.

Cavill's a class act. I don't think he'll trash the show knowing what a shitshow it's become, despite being a fan of the books and the games. And notice that he didn't say a word when the allegations against Joss Whedon's abusive behavior on the set of Justice League came out?

Guy truly is a humble and stand up dude. I'm glad he's playing Superman again.

Cavill is the only reason to watch this show. Everything else feels like K-Mart GoT.
Not really. I think Joey Batey as Jaskier and Freya Allan as Ciri are both great and the only ones amongst the supporting cast worth watching.

I used to be fan of Anya Chalotra's Yennefer until they completely butchered her character in the 2nd season.

Damn, I found Jaskier to be one of the most dreadfully annoying things to ever appear on my TV. He was ok in season 1 as Witcher's folly, but once they slapped the wig on him and had him carrying his own scenes, I couldn't take it anymore.
