Thread: The Weather Thread |OT|
Official Thread
I check the weather multiple times throughout the day, including the weekly and 14 day forecast to see what's in store. I think the 14 day obsession comes from Canada being shit so in the winter time I'm always trying to get a read of when it's going to get disgustingly cold out and when there might be a break in the pattern. Daily I just like to see how things are throughout the day.

This year I discovered the power of sunrise and sunset times. I just moved from Toronto to Winnipeg and noticed it was still light out at 10pm which is crazy to me. Toronto at the height of summer it's maybe light until 9:15 or so, but usually sunsets before 9. I started to check the sunrise/sunset times and the amount of sun we get out here is nuts. The peak a few weeks ago was sunrise at 5:19 and sunset at 9:42. So much sun 😍😍.

Yeah decidedly unfun here in the UK at present. Mid-20s is ok, but WFH with the outside temperature being 36 degrees + silly humidity when your houses are designed to keep the heat is definitely soupy callback time. Hopefully should ease up tomorrow. Still, it's not so much the people I worry about in these kinds of conditions its the animals, domestic and otherwise.

I am currently in shit hole Phoenix AZ where, last time I checked, it was 117 Fahrenheit.

One hundred and seventeen fucking degrees.

That's 47 degrees for you Celsius weirdos.

I hate hot weather and I like how is it here, in Latvia. Every year we have a couple of weeks of heat (30-33C) but usually it's 22-27, sometimes 18-20, with rainy days. And unfortunately during heat waves we have cold sea water here in Riga, probably less than 15 degrees, because South wind is blowing warm upper water layer away from the coast.

We have about 22 degrees now, but in the coming days current European hot wave will come to us, thankfully just for a few days.

Perfect summer weather for me here is 25C, sunny, gentle North breeze.
But I like dry early autumn or late spring more, probably because my head works much better in colder conditions.

Fuck every who wants snow. I'll take 100F every single day of my life. Nothing better than going for a night time drive/ride at 80 degrees, wind blowing, free to let the mind wander.

I'm convinced people who like cold weather/snow don't drive. Dusting your car off in the morning, scrapping the ice off, driving while shivering as you wait for the heat to kick in, then driving through snow/ice which is always a pain in the ass. There is nothing remotely enjoyable about winter once you begin driving. I loved the snow until I was 17 and got a driver's license.
