Looks very by-the-numbers and cliched. Hard to do something new and shocking in this field, considering exorcism movies have become a genre unto themselves. I think we'd need an "intellectual" director to do something clever and deep about the topic.

The original Exorcist and Exorcist 3 were both good movies but especially the first movie.
The moving in the trailer looks like they're going back to being like the original almost like a reboot. That means it could be good but it's still going to be your typical modern movie and by the numbers.

I thought they were total trash save for a couple well done kills. Id rather watch Rob Zombie's Halloween films again than this new trilogy.

I will never understand people's objection to the 'evil dies tonight' thing.
The movie came out in the wake of the George Floyd riots, where half the western world was set on fire by angry mobs chanting dumb slogans and killing innocent people, as they mindlessly destroyed everything around them in the name of justice.
It was the most realistic part of the film.

Suggestion for those turned off by the writing in this new Exorcist movie. Google "Linda Blair nude", that should should get your motor running, if only for a bit.
