Oblivion Remade in the Skyrim engine. Remaking Oblivion in the Skyrim engine is what we set out to do when we started the Skyblivion project. Making games takes time, this goes double for a volunteer project the size of a AAA game that took a team of fulltime DEVS years to make. Regardless we would like to share today that Skyblivion is in a state where we can promise a 2025 release at the latest. We hope with your support to finish the final steps in completing our dream, maybe even beating our own estimation.

I need this. I much prefer the world that Oblivion takes place in over the mostly drab and brown-looking Skyrim. I also preferred the side quests.

There isn't anything about Skyrim that I prefer over Oblivion.

Oblivion is a perfect game to me.

I hope you both have played Morrowind, because its world shits all over both Oblivion and Skyrim. Weird and wonderful.

I feel like the horrible RAM situation and just the general specs of the PS3/360 caused Oblivion and Skyrim to have overworlds that looked the same everywhere you went. Sure, you could load into an area that looked different but it was basically like "pick one of 3 themes, repeat 100 times."

The hope of the next Elder Scrolls for me was that it could be like a modern day Morrowind without all these technical compromises and we'd be back to a really varied world again. But god damn, we're 5 years out from the bullshit title screen announcement and the game is still vaporware.

I actually think it's the other way around. I think Oblivion requires what it requires in order to run, and considering its development began immediately after Morrowind was released, I feel like it may have pushed the 360 and PS3 to be launched with beefier hardware. At the time, I was heavily into PC gaming and wouldn't even purchase a 360 for probably a couple more years. I never felt like anything about the game was constrained, if that matters.

My biggest issue with Oblivion after Morrowind was the level scaling. I bloody hated that shit.

I still remember, so many years later, the first time I encountered a Daedroth in Morrowind. It fucking destroyed me and there were a bunch of them in that area. I knew I had to level up to be able to go through there and that gave me something to look forward to.

If, like Oblivion, a Daedroth was simply 2 levels above my level (whatever my level was at any point), the encounter and the accessibility to that area would have been completely different (and much worse).

Skyblivion aims to bring The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation of gamers and re-introduce it to long-time fans of the series. This mod will also support both Skyrim Legacy Edition and Skyrim Special Edition.

Upon release, the mod will be completely modular. As such, players will be able to choose what components they want to install. This includes all enhancements developed by the team such as its Landscaping Overhaul, Interior Overhaul, City Overhaul, Weapon/Armor Overhaul and much more.

The following video features some placeholder textures, so keep that in mind.
