Luxury oriented electric DeLorean?

Haha I'm actually kinda interested. Will put solar panels on my roof this or next year, makes sense because I have electric floor heating. Could also get an EV charging station with it. As I'm mostly working from home now and only drive within a 50km radius 99% of the time, and with the crazy fuel prices.... Tempting lol. But a nerdgasm car like that would be too much for me I think.

DeLorean is a very interesting case of a such a cool design in a really shitty car.

Of course Back to the Future gave it its cool aura, but damn it looks cool and futuristic even today.

I'm curious about the new design and what they changed. If they talk about luxury, especially the interior should be radically different.

Taking such an iconic design into the modern era is a slippery slope.

Revealed

Looks like a weird mix of a Porsche Taycan and an Aston Martin. I don't like it. Would prefer the classic design with only slight changes, to make it look more premium and modern. This has nothing to do with the original and looks like just another random EV to me.

Looks pretty cool.

But ya Deloreon was crap, didn't it bankrupt Lee Iacoca?

If it wasn't for BTTF no one would care about the car. It was trash. Gullwing doors are kind of cool but impractical.

I mean, wing-doors are always cool and I'm not saying this car looks shit. But the great thing about the original DeLorean was that the car looks cool, but not expensive/luxury. It's the opposite of luxury, a down-to-earth design (I actually have no idea what the original DeLorean cost, probably not cheaper either lol). This new car just looks like it's made for rich people, in more than one way, and thus I have little interest.

I very much wish wing doors would come back as a standard for car doors.
