Across your adventure, you'll learn how to make the most of your abilities, resources, and how you can best refine your swordsmanship.

Embark on the quest to regenerate the world in Tales of Symphonia Remastered, coming to PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch on Feb. 17, 2023!

Would have liked a full on Symphonia remake, or even at bare minimum a actual remaster for such a classic game. This not even half assed bare bones port doesn't even do the bare minimum.

Not even bundling with the sequel Dawn of the New World even if YMMV on it.

Also tired of seeing people say how good Tales of Abyss is, and it never being remastered for modern consoles.

Feels like I could play the original upscaled and maybe modded and have a superior experience.

so this is a rpg beat em up?

Pretty much. The control scheme is kind of like SSB - physical attacks forward, back, up, and down, blocking, and assignable special arts forward, back, up, and down. Different games have different gimmicks, though, and ToS is kind of bare bones versus recent games. Xillia has lots of character gimmicks, for example.

Maybe I'll give one of these tales games a try I have seen xillia around just never looked into this series.

Only buy things on PC that aren't on console

I'm always getting Tales of Symphonia and Skies of Archadia mixed up. They both look like fun but iirc Skies of Archadia was the popular one around the early or mid years of the Gamecube

Completely different games, my brother in Christ 🧠

Symphonia is an action RPG and part of the much larger "Tales of" franchise, while Skies of Arcadia is its own standalone deal which features more traditional turn-based combat and was initially a Dreamcast title

Now, the Twitter account for the Tales series has issued several tweets acknowledging the shortcomings and claiming that they will be fixed.

"We have confirmed that there is a problem with gameplay in this product version that is currently on sale. We are currently investigating a fix," reads the first of three tweets from the game's Japanese account.

"We will inform you about the update for future fixes as soon as it is known. We will send it from this account, so please wait for the information. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers."

I'm certain Tales of Symphonia was more popular among GameCube owners. In fact, when I think of Tales, Symphonia is the entry often brought up the most, along with Vesperia. Skies of Arcadia is more popular on Dreamcast but it never sold well on either platform.
