Thread: Super Pitfall 30th Anniversary
Huh... Neat. The original NES version was an absolute mess that somehow my friend and I managed to suffer and play through back in elementary school.

This looks to make it much more playable overall. I love when people do this for games.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I have fond memories of renting it for the NES. I never made many progress in the game but always enjoyed it.

I love how the first pit is instant death. Trolling before trolling was a thing

It was the shit back then. Fond memories.
Same here. What is funny is that my parents actually bought Maoi head lights that they strung up in the backyard. It was around the same time I got the game so that giant Maoi head reminded me of it.

The gameplay was an absolute freaking mess and it was near impossible to catch the swinging ropes but what I really loved was the exploration. This game had so much potential because you can just go and explore this vast underground world. There was so much hidden and so many different areas you could go to right at the beginning of the game. It was awesome even though the gameplay was a mess.

We played shit and LOVED it.

You'd get through the week to the weekend to rent a game on Friday night. Pop it in, and if it was shit, you'd learn to like it. Stockholm syndrome lol
Was even worse when you bought it.

I remember Mystic Quest on the SNES being like that for me.
Thought it would be like some kind of Zelda, and then it had all that FF round based fight stuff, and god I hated it..

Played it for a long time, though, but never completed it.

Mystic Quest is great for what it is and has amazing music.
