What makes this outright diabolical is that Review Bombing, one of the last remaining resorts available to gamers given mass purges of forums and media would only end up hurting the dev, any potential for more content, a sequel/prequel and as a whole, more games like Stellar Blade.

Instead of talk about how great Stellar Blade is, and egg in the face of most of lunatic Western devs, publishers, media discourse is purposely being diverted onto this fucking bullshit censorship.

The whole entertainment industry -- gaming, movies, comics, whatever -- really boils down to spiteful Karens and Kevins dangling IPs they didn't make over our heads and sneering "nope, you don't get to like this anymore".

Games Workshop slipped the mask 4 years ago, not like they're the only example: "if you feel the same way, we're glad you are a part of this hobby. If you don't feel that way, you will not be missed".

Wow what total cunts.

"Warhammer is for everyone. Now we're going to full on force DEI onto you and if you don't like our radical shit... It's not for you!"

Y'know what's funny? The context of their statement 4 years ago was the Black Lives Matter riots, nothing to do with DEI. And yet the language used in defense of BLM and the language used in defense of DEI is identical. Hmmmm. 🤔

Just gotta wait for the Switch 3 port in 14 years, Nintendo will give you the uncensored version.

Also this is why we need more competition in Videogames

At the moment Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are all competing to see who can hire the most far left hate mongers, that despise normal people, and see beauty and biology as fascism.

Most likely in 14 years time, unless something massive changes and these extremists are purged/hung, it's more likely a Switch 3 port will have her in a burka.

Picked it up today. Not usually a day 1 type of game for me, but I like where this studio is going and always appreciate a game that doesn't completely bend to the will of the DEI purple-haired whatever the fuck they identify as.

Demo was solid enough to impress me. Kind of reminded me of Vanquish in terms of production values. That's a good thing.

I'll give it a shot sometime soon.

Sony is so dumb. Due to the sexy designs, reeetards hate the game. But they had the overwhelming support of the thirsty people. Now they censored it after the game went gold, pissing of the thirsty people. Now two sides are against them.

On another note:

Describing the fans as 'thirsty' is using the enemies language.

The men and women who like beautiful heroes are just normal. That's the preference of 95%+ of the population and has been the case through all of human existence, and will be the case until the end of days.

Also the reaction of the far left here shows exactly who are the bad actors in gaming.

Compare the threats, doxxing, DDOS attacks and political pressure towards Stella Blade from the far leftists to the simple mockery from normal people towards Goodbye Volcano High.

The spectre of 'unbridled evil' that is the media portrayal of 'Gamergate' is pure projection.

Best way to fight back is to not buy games for a year or two.

This feels like a shit test. Media couldn't cancel the game so they latched on to "Hard R". That didn't work, so they went through their corporate back-channels to make them bend the knee. Now they've apparently censored some things, although some of the reports seem to be conflicting. Either way, there is a lot of cultural warfare surrounding this one little game.

Can't help but feel that the fans who supported the no-compromise attitude of the game are now being asked to compromise. "Well it's mostly not affected by corporate woke Sony".

Somewhere there is someone with enough clout to force these changes.

Sony knew all along what this game was. They've seen the outfits, seen the hype, seen the reaction to the demo and have seen the pre-order numbers.

Even in the face of woke game journo backlash they would have known the game is going to sell loads and the people hating on it were unlikely to purchase anyway.

The only good explanation is that there is someone out there with enough clout to successfully demand that Sony censor the game.

The right thing for weirdos who hate the game is just to say "this isn't for me" and just go play something else. Nobody needs to own EVERY videogame and nobody needs to have an opinion on every game either. It's a game for gamers who like more old school stuff. Like a PS3/360 era game with a modern coat of paint.

This industry is fucked.

Its fucking pathetic and super telling that in 2024 a 'sexy main character' is enough to strike this much debate.

Stellar Blade reminds me of Returnal which had the exact opposite conversation in regards to its lead character.

A fun, well-designed game is just that. Such a shame that these heated discussions about character design outweigh those about level design, combat fluidity, music, etc.

I'm not pretending to be fully informed on it, but it almost does sound like the team was working on and changing outfits all the way up to launch and that the changes weren't Sony-enforced censorship at the last second.

That could just be the game director saving face, but I could believe it. Especially if they patch it to allow the older, changed costumes to be selectable. It just seems odd to me that there are still very revealing outfits in the game but they only had to make minor changes to a couple of them, if the censorship idea is correct. If you're Sony and you're censoring, are you saying "Ahhh, just do one or two and call it a day."

Returnal would have been much much better with a hottie don't trip.

That character fit perfectly. Nerdy looking chick with short hair as an astronaut.

Plus that ass was nice which you're looking at for 98% of the game. 98% of the game she was lookin' mighty fine lol

So, Sony censored it. No buy.

Fuck these consoles, they can have their asexual, gay, tranny fan base. PC all the way. And for anyone that says "What's the big deal bro?". Fuck off.

Who is this censorship for? The .05 percent of screechers? Also, they have no problem showing a lifelike murder of a beloved character with a golf club. And in the same game showing a pregnant woman being killed. But, CLEAVAGE?!!! TOO MUCH SKIN AROUND THEIR WAIST SHOWING?!! Got to stop that!!!

In my case...good, you won. Obviously they don't need my money (and I spend a good chunk on games and consoles). They can fuck off, take their MS pride controllers and PS 5 pro systems and their fake puritan inclusivity and shove it all up their ass.

It does feel like everyone REALLY doesn't want my money.

I'm still buying the game, just at 20 bucks and only playing the 1.0 disc version.

Why in the fuck would I want to keep subjecting myself to an industry that increasingly tells me to go fuck myself? Absolutely ZERO chance I ever buy a ps6.

I'm currently playing Starcraft 2 campaign. Pretty much every cutscene would be different if the game was made today. There would be 700 instances of "insensitive language" marked by Sweet Baby. The game would lose all its edge and soul and become the generic slop we get frequently served nowadays. Very sad.

No, this is not off-topic.

The PC mods for this game (should it ever be released) are going to be absolutely unhinged. I can't wait for the drama when nexus mods start shitting themselves from all the custom outfits...

Skyrim and a lot of other games have full nudity sex mods. I don't think anything bad will happen to mods for this game. They tend to mostly take down stuff that goes against any LGBT narrative rather then mods that are strictly sexy.

On a seperate note...I have seen more Eve cosplays in the past week on Twitter or Reddit then I have seen for any Sony made character over the past several years. Don't really see anyone cosplaying Alloy, Abby, etc.

I've seen some Alloys and Abbys but the only one that is popular from that era is Ellie

Its looking more and more that Eve is Sony and Playstations new female mascot.

Whether they like it or not.
