New Patch just dropped

Patch 7.5 Details

This patch introduces several fixes across all platforms, including:
  • Fixes for creature & vehicle animations
  • Fix for binocular beacons not working when ray tracing is disabled
  • Quality improvement for reflections when ray tracing is disabled

We appreciate the continued support you've given Star Wars Jedi: Survivor while we've been hard at work improving your experience. As always, let us know if you run into any additional issues.

Did this ever get patched up pretty well on PC?

Can be had for like $25 on EGS during their sale and I'm kind of tempted...

I honestly found it perfectly playable after the second patch tbh. I'm sure DF has its points, but I'm largely into gaming for the gameplay experience and storyline versus fretting about the graphical fidelity as I'm not running a super high-end GPU, so all of their issues are pretty much lost on me. I never felt like the game was hitching up during fights or anything and I had a bloody good time with it @Zefah

Its definitely playable. Its not falling apart at the seams but its not polished by any means either.

@Zefah it's absolutely playable, but not feeling smooth on any system out there, not even on the fastest rig. Devs patched it and improved overall fps by a significant margin. But they never fixed the core issues like traversal stutters, general hitching, stuttery animations or the abysmal CPU utilization. And it looks like they never will.

So it'll depend on how sensitive you are and how much it affects your experience.

It's amazing. Content creators for the Star Wars IP are so hell-bent on making it nosedive via Kathleen Kennedy's mistakes. Respawn finally makes something with Star Wars that isn't bad with their first game, only to drop the ball on what should have been a more polished, better game. I used to think that there were bad actors looking to deconstruct Star Wars on purpose because of politics, and as a result diversity over meritocracy, yet Respawn is showing us something else.

Lucas sold Star Wars with the Curse of Tutankhamun and a Monkey's Paw dipped in Montezuma's Revenge.

That was more Disney's sheer arrogance blinding them and not following a Bible with a outline for the beginning, middle and end for the Sequel Trilogy and its media instead of letting massively overhyped directors like JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson anywhere near these movies. JJ Abrams Star Trek was a fun action film that still couldn't maintain the quality of its insane opening scene, but Abrams has always been far better with his incredible TV pilots like LOST and Fringe. Regarding Johnson, saw Looper when it released and it was a dismal, depressing forgettable time travel film that in no way made me thihk this director should have the reigns for the middle film of a new Star Wars trilogy.

I decided to pick this up on the EGS sale. Still only messed around for about 30 minutes, but I'm glad I did! Playing it maxed out on PC and it looks incredible. So far the combat definitely feels a bit better than the previous game, although there is still a bit of a jank in the movement.

Looking forward to digging into this more over the next week.

So is the game fixable and Respawn hasn't devoted the time to it?

Or is it more of a current gen hardware is going to struggle with this game until GPU's are just that beastly it doesn't matter how unoptimized the game is?

I read that there is a release for last gen games coming out this month. PS4 and Xbox One.

Why?

And.

Did they ever fix the performance issues for current gen?

They never fixed the core technical issues. But they did promise performance improvements for the current gen version though for the last Gen release, so we'll see.

But I doubt the last Gen versions will be any good tbh. And I don't see the market.

When are the current gen versions performance improvements coming?
