Actually they no longer own the Deus Ex series. Last year, Embracer Group (THQ Nordic parent) bought Eidos Montreal, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Montreal, though Square Enix still own certain western IPs such as Just Cause.

Ahh yeah I totally forgot. Oh well.

Damn, @Dacon, @mortal, doesn't this man's artwork just make you want to bust out the pen and paper?

Fucking love Akira Toriyama. Especially that partial background template with characters in the front.

Iktf.

I especially admire Toriyama's work with Square.

Yep. I love how he details the environment, like the piece with Magus, he doesn't draw all of the cobblestones on the ground and so this creates the illusion of depth. Or how Frog's sword sinks into the snow and in another piece where his cape drapes over the sheath of his sword.

But also just the way he draws clothing and pieces and such on characters looks incredibly refined.

Don't forget that Akira Toriyama is also the character designer for Enix's Dragon Quest series.

I've heard people say that manga artists get paid more for doing designs in videogames. If Toriyama chose to, he could live off the royalties from Dragon Quest until the end of his days.

I thought Tobal No. 1 was an excellent game. Never got to play the sequel, but I'm surprised Square never revived the series.

Tobal 2 is way better than 1. It hard to believe they were able to develop Tobal 2 os PS1 hardware. It runs at higher res and is 60fps.
