PlayStation names Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino as its new CEOs

Hulst is CEO of the newly named Studio Business Group, which includes all of PlayStation's first-party teams, plus covers the development of PlayStation IP onto other mediums, such as TV and film

Hideaki Nishino will lead the Platform Business Group, which includes console hardware, technology, accessories, PlayStation Network and third-party relations (covering major publishers and indie studios)

Hope Nishino is crazy Ken 2 designing cell 2 and returning the hardware to former glory 😄

Hermen tbh I don't know what to think of him.

Isn't Herman Hulst a card carrying cunt flap?

I see what they're doing here by placing a Japanese guy in charge of the platforms and a Gaijin in charge of studios, but is that such a smart move, especially considering what a fuck up Ryan was?

Ha! This makes a lot of sense. I had my money on it being Hulst. So I guess I was half right. Nishino-san is a great pick too. And if you are going to go back to bifurcating the leadership, this split has the people I would expect.

I'm happy for the split in roles at least.

It could be a good thing as it should result in more focus for sure, however at the same time Isn't Hulst just Jim Ryans's apprentice? I don't get the sense that there will be much if any change in direction as far as gaming goes.

I'll care if they deliver and I look who's responsible. Otherwise I'm just going to presume were rolling with the game industry status quo, and nothing will change.

I'm not actually sure. I know he rose in importance under Yoshida in the PS4 era also. Always seemed like they were shoehorning him further into a position of importance for quite a few years now.
