this is a colossal improvement over the original

newcomers be warned, the genre has evolved considerably over the years and you may find yourself disappointed by the simple mechanics

atmosphere and music are still on point, well as the level design which emphasize exploration with plenty of slower moments

This game always looked like Soul Reaver to me which sells me right there.

I just love the atmosphere, main character and story.

twisted crypts and broken cathedrals, craggy mountains, soupy marshes and swamps, environmental hazards around every corner

limited light sources, technically constricted levels set in a massively interconnected world w / respectable combat, puzzles and platforms

fucking classics

Looks like it was just released today on X Box. Definitely picking it up. Pleasant surprise.

Looks like it's release date is Monday the 17th for Switch.

Played the GOG version, been a fan since the (technically bad) PS1 version. Especially design wise this was way beyond the quality of Acclaim published games back in the day.
The restored areas are nicely implemented in the remaster. And thanks to this, finally all boss dialogue scenes make sense.

Played a good bit. This is a damn good remaster. Well worth the $20 asking price. It's Nightdive studios so I figured it was gonna be aces. Those guys can do no wrong. Looking forward to Powerslave and their System Shock remake next.
