Very impressed by the IQ of those Dead Island 2 shots. Great work @regawdless

Does it support Ray or Path Tracing? The lighting in particular seems very natural.

IQ is great, but only thanks to modded in DLSS, which is much better than native + TAA or FSR. Unfortunately, very grainy (art design decision) and you can't turn it off. But it adds some flair and looks good, I can tolerate it here.

Lighting looks very natural, with awesome indirect lighting and overall just very well implemented tech. I don't know how they did it, they don't use real time ray tracing, I guess they ray traced it all "offline" and then baked it in. It certainly has a static RT look to it (not for dynamic lights, but the static interiors look very real). But I don't know, honestly. I'll use my tech joker! @VFX_Veteran do you know how they achieved this, what kind of lighting solution(s) they are using?

Love the visuals! And again, super fluid at high frame rates. Keep in mind these are in game screenshots, there is no photo mode. I only turn off the HUD, and swap weapons, to take the screenshot when the weapon is off screen. The game looks exactly like this.

All baked GI using light maps and LOTS of dynamic ambient occlusion.

Most games try to only make large objects use AO. But in practice, every single object should compute AO no matter how small it's size.

Starfield's interiors look similar because of this.

I have to say, this is a very beautiful game. I was also shocked by the quality of lip-synching, especially when the janitor was speaking. Impressive.

Does it still have shitty framerate or is it possible to brute force now?

I'd guess brute force but on my 4090 I get 120fps.

The Epic/Gamepass/Windows Store version has better performance, first first weapon view and FOV options but the Steam version is really good as well.

5 star game if you like Resident Evil 4-6.
