Microsoft has served Sony Interactive Entertainment with a subpoena as it looks to build its defence against a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) lawsuit.

According to a court filing, the Xbox maker wants Sony to divulge details of PlayStation's game production pipeline.

Fire me 12,000 times and party with Sting if this has been posted already.

This is some pathetic shit. "buh, buh, buh, look, they have more games than us Mr FTC, it's no fair, we need to purchase $70 billion worth of assets or we can't compete wahh".

'member in the past when managerial incompetence led to the fair demise of a games company like Sega and Atari? I memba

To be fair to Microsoft, if there's one thing they need to learn how the competition do it's about having something that resembles a game production pipeline.
They knew how to do this. That's the frustrating part. They were a force to be reckoned with during the OG xbox and 360 days. They took Sony to the cleaners. Then comes 2010 with the Kinect they just went "This way is working, but nahh let's do it a different way" and have never been humble enough to say "you know what? we fucked up"

Sony did. They took a kicking for the PS3 and said "our bad, we won't do that again".
Nintendo took a kicking for the Gamecube, Wii u and one of the shitty handhelds(2DS?). They owned up, repositioned and dominated the market.

Why do Microsoft think they can buy their way out of trouble like some rich kid? They should suck it up, change their strategy and learn from their mistakes.

Buying Activision will do nothing except cover up the fact that they're views on the gaming industry aren't compatible with reality. By the end of this gen, if Microsoft get their way, they will have run COD, Diablo and WoW into the ground.
