Thread: RoadCraft |OT| Any Hole Is The Goal
Hype Thread
I pre-ordered this months ago. Installing this evening. I hope it is better than Expeditions which, for me, was a total disappointment compared to the amazing SnowRunner.

I was thinking of you when creating this thread, looking forward to your impressions! Expeditions, dunno, something was missing there for me to jump in.

Yeah Expeditions was a dramatic step down from Snowruner. Totally bummed me out. Roadcraft does look much more interesting, once Im finished with Doom Ill be all over it.

from the reviews I've read...dont expect a Snowrunner sequel. The terrain deformation and stuff is still there, but traversal doesnt seem to be the main challenge. Looks much more resource and management focused.

I need them to hire a few former Motorstorm devs and go nuts with this engine to create a spiritual successor to Motorstorm 1.

Yeah this excites me. Funny to see people flabbergasted that this isnt a sequel to snowrunner though. Like, at no point was that rver suggested man haha

Seems to be running well on the Deck:

Interesting looking game, will keep an eye out on it.

Oh shit. I played for an hour. This is totally my jam, I can see spending MANY hours on this!

It is much more task oriented and even though traversal is a big part of playing the game, it is not the goal. Which is a plus for me.

It looks so beautiful as well. Big leap I think from previous titles.

Im stoked about it being more task oriented. While mudrunner and snowrunner where more free form, you still had an idea of what to do next. Expeditions definitely had more straight forward tasks but I somehow still felt like the gameplay felt aimless. From what Ive seen of Roadcraft Im really liking the idea of things being more structured, but still allowing you the freedom to tackle things in any way you want.

I saw a video of this dude having issues with his ai navigating around a large body of water, along with the time it was taking himself to get around it, so he spent like a friggin hour building this little paved causeway strsight through it. Excellent stuff.

The route tasks are a bit shit though, because the A.I. is not good (to say the least) and the route planning also is just not well thought-out. Why can't I remove a route-point and all points further down? I just had to rebuild one from scratch because I just could not remove the final (destination) point, so I could not just recreate the last bit that was failing.

Some visual bugs as well.

@regawdless rename the thread to an OT brother, don't you?

RoadCraft | OT | Dig today, Build Tomorrow
RoadCraft | OT | A Hole too deep

or whatever you wish, it's your thread, I am not telling you what to do, just do it.
