Conquering the mountains is the name of the game in Riders Republic - and both need to feel as real as possible! We take a peek behind the scenes of @Ubisoft 's latest extreme sports thriller in the latest episode of our gaming show, Levels.

Game design isn’t just a single person alone coding quietly (but it can be). Coding, Java, blood, sweat and tears: Buckets of effort goes into making any game, but in the indie space, how do you set yourself apart from the rest on a lower budget?

From visiting Antarctica to pursuing PhDs in astrophysics, to exploring mental health and even moving out of the constructs of video games into something before-unseen, this is all in the quest of making something unique. It’s time to meet them. with @Fabio Wibmer

Downloaded the trial. Game is actually pretty damn fun. It’s got that old school Ps1/ps2 vibe and a little bit of the old 720 feel going for it.

Only downside is the “whoa brah!” Side characters, but once you’re out of the tutorial phases, they tone down quite a bit.

Might have to purchase this. It scratches that itch for a fun SSX remake we’re not seeing.

I played the trial and didnt like it much. The graphics are kind bad on PS5 and I couldnt come to grips with the trick system (well mostly just flips and spins). Seems like if you bunny hop and barely graze the buttons, you go into a spin or flip and end up eating shit.

Im sorry...SSX...please say more. I thought this was more dirt/motocross style mixed with the Steep design?

Almost SSX. No motor cross, but dirt bikes. The snowboarding sections do have an SSX feel though with the licensed music and over the top party like atmosphere. Kind of like SSX mixed with Motorstorm with an open world hub.

I exclusively use the trick setup (right stick for spins) tapping the stick in any direction will make you bunny hop. Hold a direction with the stick on the base of a ramp, when you hit the lip, fling the stick in the opposite direction to spin. Release when level to land.
After a few minutes, it’s pretty easy to do. Just practice

Saw adds of this game on YouTube and thought it's a mobile game. That name kinda screams mobile game at me. Was surprised to see this being a full Ubisoft game.

Looks weird. Somehow cool and interesting, but something also turns me off.

It’s surprisingly good actually. Only real downside is some pretty cheesy dialogue. But once you’re out of the “tutorial” phases, it tones it down for the most part.

Fun game and a nice surprise, especially for an UBI title.
