Looking at that trailer, you'd be mistaken in thinking it's a Christopher Nolan film. But then the title card "from the co-creator of Westworld" pops out and you think it's his brother Johnathan Nolan. But no, the movie is actually directed by Lisa Joy, with Johnathan as a producer.

This movie would have looked interesting to me if it didn't copy so much from Nolan's Inception. Yeah, they're dealing memories here rather than dreams, but it feels like it's treading on familiar ground. We'll have to see if it comes out good and with something original to say.

All I had in my head the whole time was, "why the fuck are people choosing to stay in cities submerged in water?"

Yep. That or just build some fucking dikes.

Huge stretches of the northern European coastline are below sea level today, yet perfectly dry and inhabited, thanks to technology from 800 bloody years ago or more.

If you don't want to leave your flooded cities that badly, just block where the waters are coming in from, get rid of the water and install some flood defences. It's not that hard.

Unlike a Nolan film tho I suspect there's actually very little action, I can usually figure out when a trailer is trying to make me think a film is more thrilling than it actually is.
